About Axel
FOSTER HOME NEEDED
Axel's new home will require the following.
- Axel can live with another large, playful energetic dog or he'll be ok as an only dog if someone is home often?
- An inside outside lifestyle so he can be with the people that he loves when they are home.
- On going training at a local obedience club, with a dog trainer or experienced owners.
- no young children living in the home, because he is a bit excited and big and may knock them over.
- large secure backyard
Axel is a sweet guy, large yes, but sweet. He loves his cuddles and pats from his people and loves to follow them around and be close. When his humans are busy, he is happy to find a comfy spot in the yard and rest. On a hot day his favourite activity is to jump around in water squirting from a hose. Axel is super friendly but young and gets over excited when meeting people and seeing other dogs when out walking he will need reminders and training to learn to meet people and dogs with manners. Axel’s carer is working on loose leash walking with Axel and continued training will be needed to improve his lead walking. He travels well in the car and is easy to train as he is food focused. Since being in care he has learnt to sit, and wait for food. He is toilet trained and loves a couch to snooze on, he will often ignore the dog bed and blankets to lay on the floor.
Axel really enjoys the company of a female dog to play with, his play style can be rough and he needs reminders to settle or play more appropriate game like tug and can also need reminders to settle and have quiet time. He can play for a good 45 minutes if allowed to. So reminders to have rest times is good.
The breed is to the best of our knowledge from the information we've been given.
*PLEASE read the ‘profile’ thoroughly before enquiring in detail.*

Adoption details
Please note- we do not work on a first in best dressed basis, we assess all applications to choose the home that we believe will best match the animal.
If you believe one of our animals would be a good match for your home please send us a detailed email us with some information about the people and any other animals in your home as well as the type of lifestyle you can offer a new rescue pet.
We are volunteerswho run the rescue around families, paid employment and other commitments so your patience is appreciated.
We do require you to travel to meet the animal you are looking to adopt. For dog adoptions, any other dogs in your home musr attend the meet and greet, this enables us to assess their compatibility and helps prevent them being returned and creating more confusion/insecurities for the foster animal.
We reserve the right to refuse the adoption if we don't believe it's a good match for our animals.
All our animals are available for a two week trial with full refund. They are also covered by a lifetime return policy. If you ever find yourself unable to care for or keep your pet please contact us and they will come back into our care or we will assist you in finding them a suitable new home, this is a condition thst you agree to when signing our Adoption Agreement.
