About Axel
URGENT foster (or forever) home needed.
Axel is a cuddly, playful boy with a zest for life and a gentle soul. He has a medium energy level, and is happiest exploring the world, rough-housing with other dogs, or snuggled up with his favourite people.
Axel is well-behaved and loves his comforts: he’s crate-trained, knows his basic commands (sit, yes, free, kennel), and is working on his leash manners. His foster carer has been helping him with polite walking and calm greetings, which will need ongoing reinforcement as he can get a little overexcited when meeting new people or dogs. Axel can also be nervous in new environments or around unfamiliar people, but he quickly adapts with patience and positive reinforcement.
Axel currently lives with a dog-savvy cat and has enjoyed playtime with several doggy friends. Although he is currently housed with other dogs, his playful nature can be a bit too enthusiastic for some dogs. We would consider homes where he would be an only pet, or one with an equally sized, dog-friendly companion who loves a good romp.
Axel adores kids but he is often unaware of his size and strength when he’s excited, so he’d be best suited with older children.
His ideal lifestyle would allow him to enjoy both indoor and outdoor time with his family, as he loves being close to his people. When his humans are busy, he’s content to lounge in the yard, and on hot days, nothing makes him happier than splashing around with a garden hose. He’s toilet-trained, enjoys car rides, and often chooses the floor over a dog bed to stretch out his large frame.
A home with a cozy couch, a large, secure backyard to explore, and a family ready to share their lives with a loveable companion would be perfect.

- Someone committed to continue with his training.
- Axel loves kids and has been around them as young as 9 and just loves to follow them around. Care needs to be taken as he may knock into them when playing.
- Large secure backyard.
- An only dog, or with an equally sized/energetic desexed dog, due to his play style being too enthusiastic at times.

Adoption details
Please note- we do not work on a first in best dressed basis, we assess all applications to choose the home that we believe will best match the animal.
If you believe one of our animals would be a good match for your home please send us a detailed email us with some information about the people and any other animals in your home as well as the type of lifestyle you can offer a new rescue pet.
We are volunteerswho run the rescue around families, paid employment and other commitments so your patience is appreciated.
We do require you to travel to meet the animal you are looking to adopt. For dog adoptions, any other dogs in your home musr attend the meet and greet, this enables us to assess their compatibility and helps prevent them being returned and creating more confusion/insecurities for the foster animal.
We reserve the right to refuse the adoption if we don't believe it's a good match for our animals.
All our animals are available for a two week trial with full refund. They are also covered by a lifetime return policy. If you ever find yourself unable to care for or keep your pet please contact us and they will come back into our care or we will assist you in finding them a suitable new home, this is a condition thst you agree to when signing our Adoption Agreement.
