About Ellie rsua010712
Meet Ellie, an independent feline soul who, despite having limited human interaction, has a heart full of potential love to give. Ellie is a resilient girl and has learned to thoroughly entertain herself, finding joy in something as simple as a laser pointer.
Ellie has a discerning personality and prefers a subdued lifestyle. She seeks a peaceful, routine-oriented environment. Ellie appreciates the need for personal space, but she loves to be near her human, making her the perfect companion for those quiet evenings at home. She eschews the classic lap cat approach but promises to keep your feet warm every night, creating a comforting presence without being intrusive.
A home with a calm and experienced caregiver would suit Ellie best. Her future human will appreciate her need for her own space and time to build trust. The ideal setting for Ellie is an environment without children or dogs, where she can become accustomed to her new surroundings at her own pace. Ellie may do well with a male fellow feline as she does have a soft spot for the boys!
Despite being independent, Ellie displays empathy in her own subtle way. She may not be an in-your-face kind of feline, but she's got oodles of character beneath her aloof exterior.
If you have a peaceful, adult-only home and are experienced cat-wise, understanding Ellie's need for room to grow and feel secure, Ellie might be a perfect fit. With patience and love, she'll come into her own, rewarding her caregiver with the unique love of an independent yet loving feline companion.
Adoption details
Simply note the ID number and the cats name and visit our hostel at 200 Elder Street in Greensborough. Alternatively you can call the hostel on 8457 6500. We are currently open Mon-Fri 10am-4pm / Sat-Sun 10am-3pm.
You should bring proof of your current address and preferably photo identification such as your driving license. You can only adopt a cat for yourself we do not allow animals to leave with third parties. If you are wishing to adopt a cat as a present for someone, bring them with you as cats are individuals and bond with different people in different ways, the cat you may choose, may not choose your friend! It is also important to allocate time for adoption and we recommend you allow at least a couple of hours to get to know the cat and do the necessary paperwork.
When you visit you will get to meet the cat and as this is a very important decision for both you and the cat you choose we will want to ensure the two of you are compatible and that you understand what will be involved in taking the cat into your home.
We will want to be satisfied that you are prepared to be a responsible pet owner. Responsible pet owners at the most basic level, have their pets registered, micro-chipped and de-sexed unless they are registered breeders. They also understand the issues involved in being able to properly care and take responsibility for the welfare of their pets. Most Councils in Victoria have limits on the numbers of cats you may own without a permit. It is important to check with your Council if you already own the limit and obtain a permit for the extra cat before adoption. We will require to see your permit.
We will answer any questions you have regarding cat care and help you to obtain any support you may need.
