About Rocky
Rocky's personality:
Rocky is a gentle giant who quickly wins hearts with his sweet nature and soft charcoal-colored coat. His irresistible teddy bear face exudes friendliness, and that charm is reflected perfectly in his personality too. You'll fall in love with him in less than two shakes of a dog's tail!
He stands out with his own personal style of affection, which involves sneaking in between the legs of his loved ones for a big cuddle. It's an adorable way to get a pat, but prospective new family members might want to consider their height as Rocky's method of cuddles requires a bit of reach! He walks beautifully on leash, heightening the joy of those delightful strolls you both will take around the neighborhood.
Rocky is a staff favorite among the volunteers at Sweet Pea, loved for his gentle demeanor and the company he adores providing. This gentle giant longs to be around his human pals as often as possible, making him perfect for someone who spends a fair amount of time at home.
Despite his large size, Rocky is calm and maintains a sweet, gentle nature. His giant size and giant heart are quite the combination, making him irresistibly charming.
Rocky's ideal forever home:
In terms of Rocky's ideal environment, he would thrive in a home where he can stretch out, play, and express his love on his own terms. He'd love a family who appreciates his uniqueness and cherishes the love that he has to offer. Given his love for cuddling, a cozy space where he can curl up with his humans is perfect.
Prepare for constant tail wags and loving cuddles with Rocky. He’s eager to meet his new family and show them just what a lovable cuddle bug he truly is. Give Rocky the love and cuddles he craves, and he will be your loyal, faithful friend for the rest of his days.
An ideal home for Rocky would offer support and ongoing training. Also, a large fenced yard is a necessity for him due to his size. A family with children who are comfortable with big dogs would help complete Rocky's perfect home setup.
Give Rocky the shared love he craves, and you're set for a loyal and forever friend who would make everyday bright.
We are unsure if he would be best in a home with or without a resident doggy at this stage and introductions prior to adoption will be necessary. Rocky has also not been tested around pocket pets or small animals yet.
Rocky's story:
Rocky was found wandering in the rural Cedar Party area in December, alongside another doggy, BoJangles (Bo). They were taken in by a member of the public and then picked up by the RSPCA. Following this, they both sadly ended up in the local pound in an extremely emaciated condition. Due to their condition, we were allowed to take them in under duty of care to ensure that they received medical attention and lots of nutritious food. Shortly after arriving and being assessed by the vet, they moved into foster care, where they continued to receive lots of love and 3 nutrient-filled meals a day. This was only a short term arrangement and both boys are now back in residence at Sweet Pea, waiting patiently waiting for their turn to find their forever homes!
More about Rocky:
What would it look like with this handsome boy as part of your family, you ask? Well! It would be unconditional love and endless affection, lots of leans for pats, constant tail wags, loyal companionship and a beautiful, smiling, bearded face to wake up to every morning! What more could you want!?
Rocky is on the lookout for his perfect forever family that will provide a safe, loving home where he can express himself and live his best life. He can't wait to show you how much of a cuddle bug he is!

Medical notes
Rocky's medical history:
Rocky arrived in our care extremely underweight at only 24.2kg. He had a heavy burden of roundworm, fleas and ticks. After receiving appropriate treatment for these and a good quality diet, Rocky slowly started to put weight on and finally had some more energy. This was also assisted by Rocky’s VERY healthy appetite! He is now back up to 32.8kg and he is so much happier and healthier. Rocky was recently desexed and is also microchipped, fully vaccinated, as well as up to date with parasitic preventatives.
