Meet Keruru, one of the adorable Maori birds litter.

She has a beautiful black velvety coat with white socks and chest. Keruru has proven herself to be one very smart pup! In the short time span of a few minutes a day, a few times a day over three days; Keruru has learned commands sit, come, paw and drop with great enthusiasm and is continuing to learn. Keruru loves nothing more than to please you; so would no doubt do amazing things with puppy school or even more advanced training to teach her more to keep that smart border collie mind of hers active and busy!

Keruru has shown great adaptation skills coming from one foster home to another. She can be quite reserved for the first few days until she gets to know you, but then is one of the first to come and greet you with kisses and roll over in hope for a good belly rub!

Toilet training was initiated in her first foster home, so when she recently came to her new home, she had already grasped the concept of toilet outside when the door from one room access was left open for her to come in and out as she pleased.

Keruru in both foster homes has shown no sign of food aggression with shared bowls when food is a plenty; though will have a growl if a high value food is on offer, so best kept where she can enjoy it in peace without having to share.

Keruru will flourish in a loving environment that allows her to build her confidence when meeting new challenges. She would also benefit from regular plays with confident doggie friends and a family that have lots of love and attention to give.
