About Pita
My name is Pita, like as in bread, but it could have been the name of an acrobat or somersaulter as I love jumping off and being caught by my foster carer. Good trick, eh? But a rose by any other name is still a rose. Although a Pilbara special by lineage, I am a lovely young boy starting out in life and looking for love. Is that you? With my coat of many colours, I am beautiful and am loving and listen when my foster mum tells me things and I am good with other dogs. I mean, what’s not to like? I am good with my toileting (pads) and eat whatever is put down for me. My carer says I have a wicked appetite but I will wait to be given the word to start. You can see I am not fussy. I amazingly sleep through the night and I am a good car traveller and just sit and watch the world go by. When asked to describe me in one word, my carer said “playful” which in dog lingo means good to have around to shake things up a bit. I am good company. I might only be little and young, but hey, I learn fast. I like to follow the resident Border Collie around learning all the dog smarts! I am an extrovert and I am looking for a loving home that would appreciate me. If you would like me in your life and are patient whilst I learn, apply to adopt today!
Want to know more about how you teach a pup to be a great dog? I’d like to do training every day so that I learn the commands of sit, stay, come, down, no, stop and leave it. And once I’ve learnt them, I need to keep practicing them every day too. That way I’ll learn to obey what you tell me to do. Being consistent and clear with your boundaries will mean I always know the right way to behave. Getting out to exercise at least once a day (and twice for working dog breeds) is vital to stimulate my brain and body. It creates important opportunities for me to meet strangers, other dogs and other animals, plus it tires me out! Tell me “no” if I’m chewing something I shouldn’t and give me a chew toy instead. I’d love to have a range of chew toys that you can swap around so I don’t get bored with them.
I CAN FLY TO PERTH!
Flying for a few hours is very important for animals in remote locations, because it gives us the opportunity to be adopted. Talk to SAFE about flying me to you in Perth.
