Penny

Penny is an affectionate and clever kelpie, who is 7 years young and looking for her Pawfect people.

Penny loves everyone including kids (having previously lived with 5 kids 0-12 years), and loves to spend her time with her family. She has her basic training down pat; walks beautifully on lead, sit, drop, toilet trained. She also loves her crate and settles well in there for a snooze. Her recall is a work in progress. Her daily routine involves a morning and evening walk, then play time at home, then snuggles on the couch. During the day she is content to snooze inside, or outside in a sunny patch of the garden.

She gets along well with other well behaved dogs and enjoys a romp around with them, but she is not suited to meeting random dogs at a dog park or off lead area. She recently spent a few nights in a foster home with 4 other dogs and was so happy to have friends to play with! That being said she can be reactive towards some other dogs when on lead and would prefer a home where she doesn’t come across too many strange dogs when out and about (rural or semi rural would be great).

Penny would do best in a home with experienced dog owners who understand how to be firm but fair. She is not suited to a home with cats, birds or pocket pets and will need training if she is to interact safely with horses and livestock. She is perfect when left alone so full time workers are welcome to apply!
