About Berry
This girl is the epitome of divine! Not only does she have the most stunning colouring and sweet face, but she has an equally beautiful temperament. Berry is affectionate, social and cuddly and turns heads wherever she goes. Her legs seriously look like you’re staring into the galaxy! Berry has a giant breed look, but is sitting at a very manageable 32kg with only a small amount of filling out to do.
Berry is currently in care with two other large breed dogs and is absolutely perfectly behaved around them. She is playful when they are up for a play, but also respects when the older dog has had enough. She has been equally social with dogs out and about and would love a home where she can have regular interactions with known friendly dogs. She would love another larger doggy companion at home, but should be fine as an only dog as long as someone has the understanding that she may take a little longer to find her feet. Before coming into care, Berry found herself in a rural NSW facility where she also interacted beautifully with the other impounded dogs.
Berry is never far from her person and loves nothing more than a snuggle on the couch. She has previously shared her home with young kids where she was reported to be their shadows and engaged brilliantly with them. She is however a big, goofy dog so any homes applying with kids will need to have dog savvy children who won’t mind the occasional accidental knock. She is social with everyone she meets out and about and will never say no to some cuddles and pats. Berry has had the luxury of having her carers working from home most of the time, but has been fine to be left with the other dogs when her carers are out. If she were to be homed as an only dog, we don’t know how she will cope completely alone, so would need an owner who has the time to transition her slowly.
Berry is a smart girl and is picking up training well. She is respectful around the house and is completely toilet trained. She is food motivated which makes training a breeze. She travels well in the car, and this makes her a delight to take on all your fun adventures. Currently, she goes to her carers farm every weekend and is a dream to travel with (although she is still figuring out how to get in and out of the car confidently). She sleeps through the night and is learning her basic commands with ease. Berry is pretty much the perfect dog, but one area she needs continued work on is leash excitement. She walks brilliantly on leash and you can take her anywhere as she is great in new environments; however, she does get over excited when seeing some other dogs on leash. There is zero aggression in this response, she just jumps around, a bit like a kangaroo. Her carers have been working on calmness when she sees other dogs on leash, and it is imperative that her new owners continue this training so it doesn’t escalate. She is a moderately active girl and will need people committed to giving her a good amount of daily exercise. The great thing is that once she’s had her daily outing, Berry is happy to snooze the day away at your feet. Her new owners should be committed to ongoing training and ensuring and gets to come along for lots of fun adventures to stretch her legs.
We are looking for a loving home for Berry that has a yard and people who will allow her inside to be a part of the family. She will need to be provided with a warm bed to sleep on inside of a night and fed a good quality diet. She would ideally love a family who is happy for her to get couch cuddles and snuggle time, as this is one of her favourite things.
This girl is an absolutely show stopper of a dog and is going to make an extremely loyal and fun sweetheart for a very lucky home. Berry is an exceptionally easy going and well-behaved dog, who will be up for whatever you have in store for her, and will repay you in big dog cuddles. If you feel you are the right match for this delightful young lady, fill out a Dog Adoption Enquiry form on the Fetching Dogs website as the next step in the process. Don't see a breed attached to one of our dogs? That's because we don't breed label dogs of unknown genetic history. We can't guess at breeds but that's okay, because we can tell you about the dog's individual personality, character, and behaviour.
