About Emma
Emma is super affectionate dog who is perfect for someone very active that can either give her brainwork or bring her everywhere they go. She's very friendly with everyone she meets.
Emma ideally needs a home with no other dogs, and definitely no pet birds. She has lived with a cat previously but suitability would depend on the cat's temperament (would need to be a confident and dog-savvy cat).
She's amazing in the car, great to handle at vet, very happy to be crated.
She's an absolute people pleaser and always looks up to her person for guidance.
She's amazing off leash and has NEVER run away, public or private areas.
She's not perfect on lead, so probably not suitable for elderly. She's always very happy and can get a bit too excited and pull on walks because she's eager to say hi to everyone she meets!
She's a well mannered dog that has been taught to only ever go through the door when asked and same with going into peoples bed. Saying that- she will most definitely "test" new people and see how far she can push her way so she needs a strong headed leader that can stay true to their word and is consistent always and forever with this highly intelligent breed.
Emma has always been on high quality feed and ideally she should continue eating black hawk chicken & rice and her new people should take her for yearly check ups and vaccinations plus monthly deworming.
Emma currenly has no health issues.
She will suit a family with kids, if the kids are respectful and understand that dogs aren't toys.
Emma is an indoor dog and not suitable to live in the backyard by herself.
Some of the commands she knows:
Come, wait, stay (verbal and hand sign), sit, hi five, lay down, drop(the ball or toy), go get it (toy), go find (if toy shown first, then asked to wait until i hide it), come around (when i ask her to run around the house to enter from the other door/doggy door), spin(needs a hand sign too), tunnel, go drink your water, eat your dinner, get in the car, go say hi, up (over obstacles or onto pointed surface), bed time or go to bed, come inside, go do your wee outside, go do your wee then come back, leave it or leave it alone, “I don't want it” when she brings me toy or ball, all done (procedures), I love you for snuggles, eat your dinner or “OK”. She's highly intelligent and very great listener, just super high energy and needs consistency and strong headed owner ideally someone that has previously owned a border collie or similar breed.
