About Lucy
Lucy is a beautiful young girl who has had a tough start to life. We are very determined to find the right home and the right person for this young lady.
Lucy will be a little nervous until she gets to know you, but once she warms up to you, there are constant requests for tummy rubs and cuddles. She simply wants to love and be loved in return.
Whilst assessing Lucy while she has been in rescue we have noticed that she does become quite anxious when she is left behind so her perfect home would have to have high fences and hopefully someone who is home most of the time. Crate training is important for Lucy when left at home alone.
Lucy can get very very excited - for example when left at home and upon your return - and ongoing training would be required in that area. The excitement will lessen once she is comfortable in her new home and knows you are coming back to her. She can nip when she is excited so we think it would be best if there were only older children in her new home until this behaviour settles.
Our assessment of Lucy's ideal family is to be the only dog, no other animals and no small children in the family on a daily basis. She would even be very well suited to a retired couple or single person who is home most of the day. Lucy will become very loyal and protective of her "person" or "people".
Lucy would love a nice walk each morning and some play time in a back yard. She is good on lead and harness, but can be nervous around other dogs, so walks will need to be taken very slowly at first. Your confidence around other dogs will improve her confidence around other dogs.
If you think that you would like to give Lucy a new chance on life and would like to meet this bundle of joy, please send through an application to meet her. She deserves so much better than the life she has had.
