About Ed

Meet the totally adorable Ed... When he came to the shelter, first thoughts were that he was a puppy of mixed boxer/staffy. He was small in size and had all the looks of a puppy... What a surprise we had to find out... that a puppy he was not!!! Estimated to be about 18 months to 2yrs old, we can only guess what breed Ed is, but odds are favoured to a beagle/toy??? mix š¤·āāļøā¤ļø...
Ed has been enjoying a life of comfort in a loving foster home, and is eagerly awaiting his forever family... this is what Ed's foster carer Marissa has to say about this darling boy:
'Ed looks like a staffy puppy, has physical characteristics - walks⦠or more prances, jumps, and bounces like a boxer, but is a mini or toy size mix of them! He is full of beans and loves to be involved in the family activities as much as possible. He will follow you around the garden āhelpingā where he can, but is happy to just chill out by himself and watch what is happening too. He also loves the water š„°
Household: Ed was a little unsure when he first arrived into foster care but warmed up to everyone quite quickly. He is learning to sit and wait for pats but sometimes forgets and jumps up. While he is only small he may accidentally scratch or knock small children over so would probably be best with older children, who will also understand how to continue to teach him great manners
On going training: Ed is very food motivated which helps greatly with his training. He also loves a good scratch, and knows to sit and wait for one- sometimes itās all just too exciting and he forgets, but ongoing training and positive reinforcement will help.
On lead- Ed is a very curious and active boy who loves to be out exploring. Being small he isnāt hard to control, but will definitely need work on recall before going off leash anywhere. What Ed may lack in size he certainly doesnāt lack in energy or agility, he is a pocket rocket and will love plenty of daily exercise
Play/ toys- Ed loves to play both with other dogs and toys. Once he gets to know his doggy playmate he is quite confident and sometimes needs to be reminded to play a little more gently and share
Cats/ other pets- Ed hasn't been tested with other pets, but if I was to guess Iād say he may think chasing them is a game ?
Care/ grooming- Ed has a short, easy care coat. A quick brush and a bath every so often will keep him looking his handsome best (well until he finds a great dirt patch to roll in after his bath!)
Nutrition- Ed has no specific dietary requirements, but is highly food motivated so will love treats when being trained⦠or just because! He knows to sit and wait for his dinner to be given to him, and it sometimes seems like itās a race for him. A snuffle mat or similar would be great for Ed!'
Ed's adoption fees is $500. This includes desexing, microchipping, up to date vaccination, worming, flea and tick treatments, and lifetime registration. A meet and greet is also mandatory.
