About Prim
PLEASE NOTE THAT UNFORTUNATELY WE ARE UNABLE TO FLY OUR ANIMALS EITHER WITHIN WA OR INTERSTATE, HOWEVER WE CAN ON OCCASION ARRANGE TRANSPORT BY ROAD TO THE PERTH AREA.
NAME: Prim (around 7kgs)
BEFORE RESCUE: Came to SAFE Esperance from the pound
BREED: Terrier x Dingo
BREED TRAITS: – Terriers come in all shapes and sizes and were bred for different reasons but many were for farm work or ratting. Today they are mainly companions. Terriers are generally high energy, very bright and quick to learn but can be stubborn. They have strong personalities and a sense of fun and want to be included in everything you do. Don't take on a terrier unless you really do want a companion.
Dingos - The Dingo is Australia’s wild dog considered to be introduced by Asian seafarers around 4,000 years ago. They are opportunistic carnivores eating rabbits, kangaroos wallabies and wombats. They will also eat reptiles, insects and birds. The Dingo is described as intelligent, resourceful, agile, independent, curious, alert, bold, stubborn, loyal and cheerful. Dingoes seldom bark but can howl or yelp. They are territorial and are reserved and shy around strangers. They cannot live with small pets as they see them as quarry.

ASSETS: Affectionate, devoted, eager to please, friendly, active and playful pretty much sums up Prim’s personality, she’s a very sweet girl but can be a little shy and unsure around new people initially.
FAVOURITE THINGS: Prim loves to play with the other dogs in her foster home (big or small) and enjoys all kinds of toys. She loves to go for rides in the car and loves affection, lapping up all the cuddles she can get!
ENDEARING FEATURES: Prim is very loyal and playful. She learns new things quickly and is very smart.
OTHER ANIMALS: Prim gets on well with other friendly dogs and loves their company. She could live with a dog-savvy cat after gentle introduction - she is unsure of them but just tends to walk away.
GENERAL INFO: Prim walks well on her lead and is house trained. She enjoys getting out and about in the car and when out will bark for a short time at strangers or other animals. Her previous exposure was limited and so she can initially be unsure or a little fearful. She does try to get up on the kitchen bench to hoover up anything there, so will need some training with this and she loves to chew things so providing her with good interactive and chew toys will be a must and remember she’s still just a pup. She knows a couple of commands but would benefit from some ongoing training and we will expect this of her new owner.
ESSENTIALS for Prim:
** A loving home where someone is there more often than not or can take her with them when out.
** She would love to live with another dog or at the least have regular interaction and playdates with other friendly dogs.
** Prim needs a fenced, secure yard with grass and interesting things for her to sniff and explore.
** Prim loves to be with her people so needs to be allowed inside the home and to sleep inside at night.
Prim could live in a home with dog-experienced, gentle children over 12 years of age who will recognize her shyness/caution and give her space when she needs it.
If Prim sounds like the perfect fit for your family, please send an enquiry and we’ll be in touch soon.
