If you’re looking for the sweetest companion, look no more! Kio is an extremely gentle-natured girl, who loves fiercely and is very loyal to her hooman. She’s pat-obsessed, and is her happiest when she’s being cuddled by someone. She loves people who put in the time for her and she shows little anxiety when left alone for a few hours.

She is a hassle-free little dog and is more youthful than her age demands. She very rarely barks, does not pull on the lead when she goes for walkies and is happy to sniff a bit and trot along. She is superbly well toilet trained and will let you know if she needs to go outside! She’s a great bed buddy, but also happy to doze on the floor next to you. She’s happy with one or two short walks a day, but is okay to skip one here there and she's good for a mini swim with friends! She hasn’t been around children much, but shows no signs of any aggression whatsoever and is very kind-natured so I’m sure she would be great with children of any age. Kio whimpers a bit when she comes across dogs on her walks. After time spent with her I now take these to be a sign of excited nerves. She’s very submissive when meeting dogs, and she doesn’t nip or kick up a fuss. In fact I think she quite enjoys it! Kio isn’t much of a jumper, and even if she was she couldn’t go very far because of her height. As long as there are no gaps in the fences/gates she’ll be good! She loooooves a treat, but doesn’t seem interested in toys or playing of sorts. She doesn’t seem to respond to sit or stay, but comes when asked, especially with a whistle.

Kio is suspected to be a little blind and a little deaf, she likes to know where you are as it helps to orientate her. She loves to chill with you wherever you may be in the house and have a nap, cuddle or watch TV with you. She’s looking for a quiet, loving home preferably with no other pets and someone who’s around more than a full time worker. An elderly person, couple or a small family who want an inside/outside companion dog would be the perfect match.

Kio is very small for her breed. I would describe her as an old soul with a puppy’s good looks and the red heeler brains to match! She would undeniably be a wonderful addition to your little world.
