About Anchovy
Meet Anchovy,
Anchovy is a sweet, gentle & sensitive boy. He is friendly & smart and very affectionate with his carers.
Slightly shy, but very curious Anchovy is playful & social. Anchovy is suitable for first time cat owners or those with experience.
He is also suitable to live in any household environment. Anchovy is open to meeting kids of any age & likes to be picked up and cuddled and have his belly rubbed & back scratched.
Anchovy has previously lived with cats; in fact, he came in with Capone (ID: 11189). When introducing him to fellow felines we always recommend a slow, gradual introduction.
As we cannot test in this environment, we are unsure how Anchovy would go living with dogs. This would be up to the discretion of his new owners.
Anchovy should be inside only. When he came in to us, he was very shy & did not like human touch that much (though he did tolerate it). Whilst in our care he truly has had a glow up where he has come so far from that kitten he used to be, but the outside world can be a scary place, & we fear that if he was to venture outside, he may flee, undoing all the progress he has made.
Based off his behaviour background he may need some additional time to settle into his new home too. But fear not, Anchovy loves people & it’s you that will make him feel safe & content.
Anchovy’s energy is low, but he will get spurts of energy, resulting in him playing with his toys. His favourite toys are cat wands, toy mice or anything else that moves & dances.
Anchovy is a big foodie, and he especially loves Greenie treats. Anchovy is neat & tidy & always using his litter tray too.
Overall Anchovy is a very sweet & social boy who will sometimes chat to you about his day.
Post-Adoption Life: With all animals it’s important to understand that going into a new environment with new people may not be as flawless as we want it to be. It’s important to know that these animals have unknown histories. Most left in the shelter by their owners. The information we receive is from observing the animal’s behaviours & reactions to certain stimuli whilst in our care. Adopted animals can take up to 3 months to properly decompress from post-shelter life & a lot of behaviours & quirks will surface during this time. All that we ask if that their new owners have an open mind & are patient.
