Luna & her friend Zeus (35584) were unceremoniously thrown over our fence, essentially abandoned by her previous owners. What we do know is that they lived together before their life in shelter began.
About: Luna is a friendly and affectionate girl who adores her humans. She is incredibly adaptable and would fit right into any household, whether it's bustling and lively or peaceful and quiet. She thrives in environments where she can be part of the action or just chill out with her favourite humans. With her radiant personality and boundless love to give, Luna is the perfect dog for someone who's experienced in the wonderful world of dog ownership.
Ideal Home: Luna's dream home includes a townhouse, house, or even a farm with a medium to large yard and secure fencing. She’d love to have the freedom to roam indoors and out, with plenty of supervised outdoor time.
Just remember, she's a bit of a jumper, so tall fences are a must to keep her safe and secure.
Family: Luna is fantastic with kids of all ages and would make a wonderful addition to a family. Whether they're toddlers or teenagers, Luna will shower them with love and affection.
If you're an active and outdoorsy individual or family, Luna is your ideal match! She's always up for an adventure and will happily join you on hikes, runs, or any outdoor escapades you have planned.
Luna is also ideal for people who work part-time or from home, making her a great companion for those with flexible schedules.
Furry Friends: Luna is a social butterfly and enjoys the company of other well-mannered dogs. While she may be a bit selective at first, with proper introductions and guidance, Luna blossoms into a playful and sociable pooch. But it’s important to the note that Luna matches the energy of the other dog – if she is around other well mannered dogs, they will bring out the best in her. We have seen her at her best whenever she is with her BFF Zeus (35584).
As we cannot test, we are unsure how Luna would fair meeting or living with cats/pocket pets – this would be up to the discretion of her new owners.
As always, we recommend that when introducing your new & existing animals that it is does slowly & that each animals boundaries are respected.
Work: Luna is a smart cookie who's eager to please. She's been doing fantastic with her training and is quick to learn. With a little post-adoption training, such as training at home or group classes, Luna will continue to shine and impress. She already knows commands like 'sit,' 'lay down,' and 'crawl' & is eager to learn more.
She loves her treats & responds positively when they’re offered & takes them gently form your hand.
We always recommend post-adoption training whether it be at home or with a professional. Training doesn’t have to be a chore – it can be a fun experience for you both, it doesn’t have to take long & is a great way for you to bond with your new pal.
Play: Luna's energy levels are medium to high, so she'll thrive with daily exercise and mental stimulation. Whether it's a brisk walk or a game of fetch, Luna is always ready for some fun! She enjoys playing with all kinds of toys no matter their shape or size.
She walks well on a lead & is fine to be walked with a flat collar & lead.
Post-Adoption Life: With all animals it’s important to understand that going into a new environment with new people may not be as seamless as we want it to be. It’s important to know that these animals have unknown histories - most are left in the shelter by their owners. The information we have is from observing the animal’s behaviours & reactions to certain stimuli whilst in our care. Adopted animals can take up to 3 months to properly decompress from post-shelter life & a lot of behaviours & quirks may surface during this time. All that we ask is that their new owners have an open mind & are patient.
