Zeus & his friend Luna (35583) were unceremoniously thrown over our fence, essentially abandoned by their previous owners. What we do know is that they lived together before their life in shelter began.
About: Zeus's outgoing and affectionate nature is sure to win your heart. He's a friendly fellow with a penchant for playfulness, and his enthusiasm for life is contagious.
Zeus is the perfect fit for both first-time dog owners and seasoned pros alike.
With his charming personality, love for tennis balls, and eagerness to please, Zeus is more than just a pet—he's a cherished member of the family.
Zeus is friendly, happy & outgoing. He’s a confident boy with an excitable & playful nature. Zeus is social & affectionate., but he can at times be boisterous.
Ideal Home: His adaptable nature makes him suitable for any household. From busy families to laid-back individuals, Zeus is ready to become a part of your world.
Whether you reside in a townhouse, house, or farm, Zeus will thrive with access to a medium to large yard with secure fencing. He would love the freedom to roam indoors and outdoors as he pleases.
Family: Although Zeus adores human company, he's best suited to households with children aged 8 years and up, as he can get a little jumpy when he's excited. But don't worry, his bursts of energy are very short-lived.
With his exuberant personality, Zeus is a natural fit for active and outdoorsy people or families.
Zeus is ideal for people who work part-time or full-time.
Furry Friends: Zeus has shown great potential for socialising with other dogs, especially his gal pal Luna, whom he lived with before. With a little help and guidance, Zeus is sure to blossom into a social butterfly in no time with the other dogs we have on site, but for now we are going to say that he is best to be the only dog in the home until he finesse his manners. We are going to work with him so that he reaches his potential.
As we cannot test, we are unsure how he would go living with/meeting cats/pocket pets – this would be up to the discretion of his new owner.
Work: Some post-adoption training, whether at home or in group classes, will help him become the best doggo he can be and Zeus's love for treats makes training a breeze.
We always recommend post-adoption training whether it be at home or with a professional. Training doesn’t have to be a chore – it can be a fun experience for you both, it doesn’t have to take long & is a great way for you to bond with your new pal.
Play: Whether it's hiking, jogging, or just exploring the neighbourhood, Zeus will be right by your side, ready for any adventure.
To keep up with his energy levels, Zeus would benefit from daily exercise and/or walks ranging from 30 to 60 minutes.
He walks well on a lead, albeit with some strength behind him, and a flat collar and lead are recommended for walks.
Post-Adoption Life: With all animals it’s important to understand that going into a new environment with new people may not be as seamless as we want it to be. It’s important to know that these animals have unknown histories - most are left in the shelter by their owners. The information we have is from observing the animal’s behaviours & reactions to certain stimuli whilst in our care. Adopted animals can take up to 3 months to properly decompress from post-shelter life & a lot of behaviours & quirks may surface during this time. All that we ask is that their new owners have an open mind & are patient.
