About Mickey
My adoption fee has been reduced as I have been waiting for my forever home for over 60 days!
If you're ready to welcome a furry friend who will fill your life with unconditional love and companionship, Mickey is the perfect match for you! With his gentle spirit and affectionate personality, Mickey is sure to become an invaluable member of your family. His adaptability and willingness to learn make him a great fit for any household.
About: Mickey embodies the true definition of ‘soft & gentle’ & he is perfectly suited for first-time dog owners or experienced dog lovers alike.
Ideal Home: He would thrive in a calm and quiet environment, making him the ideal doggo for those with a peaceful atmosphere at home.
Mickey dreams of a loving home where he can freely explore both indoors and outdoors. A standalone house with a medium to large yard and secure fencing would be his idea of paradise.
Family: With his open-hearted nature, Mickey welcomes children of all ages with warmth and affection.
Perfect for those who work part-time, Mickey is content with a balanced routine that includes both relaxation and activity.
Furry Friends: Mickey is open to meeting other dogs, but he is dog selective. As he is shy & timid, he prefers the company of like-minded dogs who are also on the quieter side. We are positive that as his confidence grows in his new home so will his willingness to meet other dogs from all walks of life.
While Mickey's compatibility with cats is uncertain, it will be up to his new owner’s discretion to introduce him to feline friends if desired.
As always, we recommend that when introducing your new & existing animals that it is does slowly & that each animals boundaries are respected.
Work: Mickey will benefit from post-adoption training, such as training at home. While he's already mastered the art of ‘sit’ he is eager to learn more.
Mickey is a well-mannered pooch who rarely barks unless seeking attention. His occasional jumps are executed with grace and politeness, reflecting his gentle demeanour.
One of Mickey's favourite indulgences is devon, which he takes gently from your hand, showcasing his polite and loving nature.
We always recommend post-adoption training whether it be at home or with a professional. Training doesn’t have to be a chore – it can be a fun experience for you both, it doesn’t have to take long & is a great way for you to bond with your new pal.
Play: With moderate energy needs, Mickey will need daily walks and exercise ranging from 30 to 60 minutes.
He walks well on a leash, showing only minimal pulling, and walks well with a flat collar or harness during walks.
Although Mickey isn't particularly interested in toys, he finds pure joy in human interaction. Whether it's cuddling on the couch or enjoying a leisurely stroll, Mickey's true happiness comes from being by your side.
Post-Adoption Life: With all animals it’s important to understand that going into a new environment with new people may not be as seamless as we want it to be. It’s important to know that these animals have unknown histories - most are left in the shelter by their owners. The information we have is from observing the animal’s behaviours & reactions to certain stimuli whilst in our care. Adopted animals can take up to 3 months to properly decompress from post-shelter life & a lot of behaviours & quirks may surface during this time. All that we ask is that their new owners have an open mind & are patient.
