About Xanthe
My adoption fee has been reduced as I have been waiting for my forever home for over 60 days!
Are you ready to open your heart and home to a beautiful feline friend? Allow us to introduce you to the lovely Xanthe, a gentle soul looking for a calm and understanding forever home.
Xanthe may be a bit reserved at first, but beneath that timid exterior is a sweet and affectionate girl waiting to bloom. She is a shy cat who thrives in a calm and quiet environment. While she may seem a bit reserved, her loving nature shines through once she feels safe and secure.
Xanthe would be best suited to an owner with previous cat experience, someone who understands the ways of a shy cat. She prefers the company of older children, aged 10 years and up, as they are more likely to be understanding and gentle with her timid demeanour. Xanthe's new home should be a peaceful haven, free from the hustle and bustle that may overwhelm her.
While we can't confirm her comfort level with dogs, it's up to the discretion of her new owner. Currently, due to her timid state, we recommend a dog-free environment for Xanthe. However, as she continues to regain her confidence, this may change with time and patience.
Xanthe should be an indoor-only cat, ensuring her safety and comfort. Her energy levels are on the lower side, as she enjoys lounging in the sun or taking leisurely naps. She's not a demanding cat and doesn't require constant entertainment; a quiet corner with a cozy bed would be her paradise.
Despite her initial shyness, Xanthe is not fussy and always uses her litter tray. She is comfortable with being picked up and swaddled, and she absolutely adores gentle pats on the top of her head and chin. You'll find her getting chatty when she senses delicious meals on the way – a delightful expression of her excitement!
Xanthe's journey has been one of resilience and healing. Once a sweet, affectionate girl, she faced a medical ailment that required daily treatment, leading her to become the shy girl she is today. Every day, she is making strides toward reclaiming her friendly and happy nature. By providing her with a patient and loving environment, you'll witness Xanthe blossom into the wonderful cat she was always meant to be.
Your patient heart and caring home can be the key to helping Xanthe rediscover her true, loving self!
Post-Adoption Life: With all animals it’s important to understand that going into a new environment with new people may not be as flawless as we want it to be. It’s important to know that these animals have unknown histories. Most left in the shelter by their owners. The information we receive is from observing the animal’s behaviours & reactions to certain stimuli whilst in our care. Adopted animals can take up to 3 months to properly decompress from post-shelter life & a lot of behaviours & quirks will surface during this time. All that we ask if that their new owners have an open mind & are patient.
