About Bikkie
Hey there, I'm Bikkie!
I might be just 11 months old, but I've already been through some big changes in my life. You see, I ended up in this shelter, and it's a bit confusing to me. But I'm staying hopeful because I know there are good people out there who can help me find my forever home.
I'm what they call a staffy, and I've got a heart as big as my adorable face. People say I'm sweet and sensitive, and I guess that's true. I just want to feel safe and loved, you know? I am shy and unsure at first, especially around new people and places, but I'm working on building my confidence.
One thing that really helps me is when people talk to me like I'm a baby (I know, I'm a big puppy now, but who can resist baby talk, right?). Oh, and treats! Treats are like magic for me. They make me feel special and loved.
Now, about my future family... I think I'd do best in a home with adults only, and not a loud house at that either. I need a quiet environment, especially when I'm still getting settled in. Patience and understanding are key with me. I can also can find it a bit overwhelming when I'm left alone for long periods of time so will need a family who has someone home more often than not. I've got loads of potential, I just need someone who believes in me and is willing to let me take things at my own pace.
I told the staff at LDH that I think I might get along with another dog. It depends on the meet and greet, but I'm open to making furry friends.
Positive reinforcement works best for me, so if you're patient and consistent, I will learn to trust again and be the happy dog I know I can be!
And last but not least, I need a family who's committed to giving me the love and attention I deserve. I may have had a rough start, but I know there's a bright future ahead for me. All I need is a chance to show you what a good girl I can be.
If you think I'm your flavoured Bikkie, come in and talk to one of the staff here to chat about me today!
