About Harley - 11 Week Old German Shepherd (Trial)
Harley is an 11 week old, German Shepherd puppy. He is an easygoing, gentle, sweet and affectionate boy. Harley has the usual puppy energy and he loves playing with his foster siblings, but when he is all worn out he loves to snuggle up for a cuddle or have a snooze in the shade. He is doing well with his house training, but this will need continual work as he is still young. He sleeps in his crate at night.
Even at such a young age, Harley is already showing how clever he is. He has learnt to sit and is learning to wait for his food.
Harley is a healthy boy who is living in a home environment. He absolutely loves the company of his humans and will greet you with lots of tail wags and his favourite place to be is by your side. He has been socialised with other puppies and adult dogs (small and large) and gets along well with them all. He loves play time with his foster sisters and enjoys chasing a ball. He's met lots of people and is friendly and affectionate with them. He also has a cat living in her foster home and is fine with her.
Harley will grow up to be a large dog and would benefit from being adopted by individuals who have experience with German Shepherds as he will need ongoing training. We always recommend puppy-training classes to give your new family member the best start in life. All dogs and puppies need plenty of affection, exercise, and training.
It would be a big plus if you have a friendly adult dog as a teacher, companion and playmate for Harley. If you don't have another dog to keep him company, then there needs to be someone in the household that doesn't work full time.
Harley needs to be welcome inside when people are home, and to sleep inside at least until fully grown. He will be wonderful family dog and is suitable for children 8 years and older. You need good fencing with no small gaps. He can't go to rural fencing (eg: mesh or wire).
Harley's adoption fee is $800 which includes his desexing when he is old enough. It also includes his first two vaccinations. He has been treated for fleas and worms, and is microchipped.
Harley is in foster care in Cardiff South, NSW. Since he is not yet desexed, he is only available for adoption to the Lower Hunter region (Newcastle, Lake Macquarie, Port Stephens, Maitland and Cessnock) plus Central Coast and Sydney. He'll need to be returned to one of our approved vets for desexing when he's 5 to 6 months old.
