About Cheddar - Located in Pakenham
Hey there, friends! The name's Cheddar, and just like the cheese, I go with everything. Yep, I'm that versatile!
I may be a silly, sweet, playful boy, but I'll admit, I'm still learning that people are pretty cool. I mean, they bring the food and the pats, which are kinda neat, I guess. With a little help from my brothers, I'm slowly gaining confidence, especially when we're all goofing around and wrestling together. Those ring toys with the jingle ball inside? Oh yeah, I'm determined to master those soon. Watch out world, Cheddar's on a mission!
Now, when it comes to cuddles, I'll let you in on a little secret: despite my bravado, I'm a total softie. Sure, I might protest at first, but deep down, I love nothing more than snuggling up and purring away. Oh, and speaking of purring, I can purr up a storm! It's like my own little protest anthem, but trust me, it's all in good fun.
But here's the thing: I'm still learning to be a lap cat. It's a work in progress, okay? So, be patient with me, and I promise I'll get there eventually. In the meantime, I'll keep entertaining you with my silly antics and charming personality.
So, what do you say? Ready to welcome a sweet, playful bundle of fur like me into your home? I promise, with me around, there will never be a dull moment! Let's make some memories together, shall we?

WORLDWIDE CAT VACCINE SHORTAGE
There is currently a worldwide shortage of cat vaccines and supplies are unlikely to be replenished until early 2024. This is due to complicated supply problems post-COVID. Our vets have limited, and in some cases no supplies available, but are prioritising kittens and previously unvaccinated Cats wherever possible.
Kittens are at the highest risk as their level of protection is very low after the initial protection provided by the mother’s antibodies. While protection will wane a little over time, a delay up to three months is unlikely to result in a significant reduction in levels of protection. It is anticipated that clinics should have regular supplies early in the new year to bring your cat back up to date.
First Vaccination completed
We will try to provide at least 1 vaccination, depending on our supplies of vaccines available, however boosters may become overdue. In this case it is your responsibility to contact your vet as soon as supplies become available. We will not be re-imbursing any of this costs.
We require all cats and kittens to be indoors only and not allowed outside. This is especially important now as there is a risk of coming into contact with unknown cats who may not be vaccinated.
No Vaccination completed
Where we are unable to provide any vaccination during their time in care with us, please contact us on 0459779888 or via email to samantha@neko.org.au, and we will arrange for one vaccination to be done at one of our partnering clinics as soon as supplies are available. Boosters after this will be your responsibility.
Please note that should you choose to utilise your own clinic, we will not be re-imbursing any costs. This is your responsibility.
