About Lexy
Introducing Lexy!
Lexy is a Border Collie x Cattle Dog born approx 29th January 2019.
Lexy was brought in to us as an unmicrochipped stray and unfortunately no one has come looking for her. While being at the facility she has shown herself to be a quiet & calm girl. She's gentle when taking treats and she loves a chin scratch.
We believe Lexy to have previously lived on a farm or large property as she shows traits of a typical farm dog and she was found in a rural area. We feel she will be more suited to living on an acreage instead of a residential property.
Unfortunately Lexy hasn't tested well with other dogs, so she will need to be the only dog at home. We are also recommending she not be taken to off-leash dog areas.
Lexy was mostly unfazed by cats. She stared at them for a few seconds, then calmly moved on. Please note that our cat testing is done through an enclosure & this reaction may vary when there is no barrier between them.
Lexy did show signs of prey drive towards Russell the Rooster, so we are recommending a home with no pocket pets.
Lexy has shown no signs of food aggression or separation anxiety while being at the facility. She is showing some anxiety in the kennel and prefers to stay in her kennel and not go in to the runs.
Lexy would thrive in a home where she is included as a part of the family where she will be mentally and physically stimulated.
Lexy's adoption fee is $450 and includes her desexing and lifetime registration.
Lexy has been treated for flea and worms and is up to date with her vaccinations.
To enquire more or to meet Lexy, please call 0499 900 272 or email ccacfpetadoptions@gmail.com and speak to one of our friendly staff.
Lexy is looking forward to meeting you and she is currently located in East Maitland.
Adoption details
If you are interested in adopting one of our animals, please contact us on 0499 900 272.
Staff will ask more about your lifestyle and the information you provide will helps us to achieve the best match between the dog or cat and their new home. We will also have certain adoption requirements that have to be approved prior to meeting the animal (eg fencing requirements, no young kids, etc)
Once all of your questions have been answered and adoption requirements met and approved, its time to meet your potential new furbaby. This meet will be conducted at the shelter in the Hunter Valley.
Should you have an existing dog in your life, we will require a meet and greet to ensure that they get along.
The final step (pending agreement by both parties) is the payment of the adoption fee and filling in of associated paperwork for your new furbaby.
Congratulations, you have now saved a life!
