About Rufus
Meet Rufus, a young Shepherd boy with a heart of gold who carries a spark of brilliance within him. His adoring foster carer can account to his loyalty, intelligence, and affectionate nature. Rufus will stick to you like glue, always right there to bear witness to even the most mundane activities!
Rufus is sociable and adjusted well with two large dogs and a cat in his foster home. However, he has been reactive to animals outside the home and would benefit from further obedience training. His eagerness to learn and swift understanding of rules and expectations is a bonus though.
Blessed with a playful pup aspect to his personality, Rufus enjoys a good romp with his large canine companions. While he can play rough, he understands limits. His response to a mix of loving encouragement and firm guidelines has been positive, even though a stubborn streak does occasionally emerge.
Rufus likes to be close by and involved in what's going on, but he does appreciate alone time when eating. After a day filled with fun and adventure, he settles well at night and is happy to sleep in his own space. Rufus is also house trained.
Once affected by malnutrition, Rufus now sports a soft, shiny coat and has strengthened considerably. He will still need attention to improve muscle tone, but he's moving along the path to wellness speedily.
Dear Rufus prefers human companionship above all else, apart from food. It's easy to picture Rufus accompanying you on your adventures, sitting by your side as you fish on the shore, or jumping into the SUV for a road trip. Rufus really has all the qualities of becoming your lifelong best friend.
