About Bones
Introducing Bones 🦴
Bones is a large boy who is still learning about the world around him 💙 he is looking for a special family to come along to open up his world and do life with.
HOUSEHOLD - Bones loves everyone that he meets and shows his approval with a big happy tail wag and smile. He is a large breed boy who requires an experienced dog owner and a household with children over 12 yrs old.
ON GOING TRAINING - Bones has shown he knows sit, shake and will sometimes do it easily with no reward needed. He would benefit from continued work with his manners/obedience.
ON LEASH - Bones can be pulley on the leash, especially when first coming out of his kennel. Once out of the shelter he does relax and walk at a steady, easy place.
PLAY/TOYS - Bones loves all toys and a game of tug-o-war.
Bones is an extremely fun loving boy who during play can get over stimulated. When this happens Bones can become mouthy and vocal if allowed. His new owner will need to keep this in check by not allowing play to escalate to this point.
OTHER DOGS - Bones is dog social and can be in the presence of other canine friends, however he is still in the process of learning how to play, share toys and food appropriately without becoming dominant.
Bones would benefit greatly from ongoing opportunities for him to socialise and interact with dogs while on lead to help him learn appropriate doggie manners. Until his manners improve, we are recommending Bones be rehomed as an only boy.
CATS/OTHER ANIMALS - While in our care Bones has shown little interest in cats. With slow controlled introductions and supervision, it may be possible for Bones to live in harmony with a resident feline.
CARE/GROOMING - Bones requires regular grooming to keep his coat and skin healthy. He enjoyes all types of handling remaining relaxed, soaking up any attention that comes his way.
EXERCISE - Bones requires daily long walks/runs with plently of opportunities to sniff, explore and play. Further socialisation with different experiences will also help Bones grow to be a well-rounded and confident boy.
CAR RIDES - Bones behaves well in a car.
NUTRITION/FOOD - Bones has no specific dietary requirements. Bones has shown some rescource guarding when in the presence of other dogs.
BREED - DOB - 10/7/22 Wolfhound
Bones is located at our Erina Shelter and his $500 adoption fee covers - microchipping, desexing, lifetime registration, current vaccination, flea and worming treatments.
If you are looking for a sweet, shaggy, loyal boy who delights interacting with his people and being active, please apply and ask to adopt Bones online.
