About Lolly
Have you ever wanted a Miniature Border Collie looking girl with a thick luxurious coat but who is only a bit bigger than a Fox terrier lol ?? Well meet the beautiful Lolly !
The gorgeous little Lolly is now seeking her new forever home. Lolly an adorable 12 kilos of lovable Border Collie/Terrier cross
Most dogs love a belly rub and Lolly is no exception. Literally a furbaby, she loves to be cradled in your arms just like a human baby while you give her a rub on the tum; the longer the better! Lolly gets very excited when her human comes home and will likely do zoomies around the yard and cry with excitement. Lolly has an unusual welcome home sound; something between a growl and a purr, she is so happy to see you!
Lolly loves people. If you leave her for half an hour to pop to the shops she will welcome you back as though you have been on a round the world vacation. Lolly loves a pat however once she has received your attention she will jump into her bed or wander outside for a rest.
Being mature and an intelligent dog breed Lolly responds well to commands such as “sit” and “come” and has learned her new name exceptionally quickly. Going for walks Lolly is good on the lead however she does at times look to her human for reassurance. She has excellent recall when off-leash. Initially Lolly was reluctant to go in the car but after a couple of rides with her foster’s own dog as company she now happily jumps in, ready for her next adventure. Lolly is house-trained as long as she has access to the outdoors at night. She has not shown much interest in toys as yet.
Whilst in foster care Lolly has enjoyed the company of her older and larger foster brother, an Australian cattle dog, however she is more comfortable around dogs of her own size( smaller size). Lolly has been to a dog park whilst in foster care where she enjoyed sniffing the daily news and was friendly towards all dogs. She shows interest in dogs of a similar size and is confident to approach them. Cockatoos and magpies have visited the foster’s backyard but Lolly is content to watch from the sidelines. She is untested with cats
Lolly’s foster mum is home a lot however at times Lolly has been left for up to 6 hours during the day. She has shown to get a little upset when left for long periods although the neighbors advise she has got better, which is most likely a result of her settling into her new routine. With love and a stable home this should improve.
Lolly came into care matted and in need of a wash. She seemed to enjoy the bath and her black and white fur is now beautifully shiny.
Lolly has had the option of sleeping on her foster’s bed at night however she prefers to sleep in a bed on the bedroom floor or will happily go into a covered crate with a bed. The crate at night helped Lolly settle down into her new surroundings and after a few nights she ventured into her dog bed in the bedroom. Lolly will keep you company at night until you are ready to retire for the evening, then follow you to bed. She will wake up whenever you do.
Lolly has been going for walks once or twice a day for around 30 minutes at a time. She has not shown any interest in toys. Being of such a small size this little poppet does not need a lot of exercise.
Lolly is happy inside or outside the home, as long as it is cool enough during the warm day due to her very thick coat. She is very well-behaved inside the home.
A home with an owner or owners who are home more often than not would be ideal. A small home and/or backyard would suit Lolly as would a medium to large property. Lolly will be happy living as an only dog or with another male dog of a similar size.
