Ash

Ash has been through so much in his little life, and he deserves the best home ever. All of his available siblings have been adopted, but no one seems to want to love Ash, and we simply don't know why!

Ash has not had a single adoption enquiry. :(

Perhaps people see his age (still just a baby at 14 weeks old) and assume he is no longer a 'cute' kitten... ???

What they don't realise is he has spent most of his life in recovery, fighting through ailment after ailment to become the gorgeous, healthy little boy that he is now. It's not his fault he suffered so much neglect at the hands of irresponsible humans, but now he is languishing in care because people are overlooking him.

Here is his story:

ASH BEFORE:

When we brought Ash in off the streets, he and his siblings were suffering tremendously.
Two of them passed away very shortly after coming into care; we were simply too late to save them.
The rest clung to life.

They all had a severe case of the flu, which had progressed to pneumonia in some.
Their eyes were ravaged by conjunctivitis, some were damaged beyond repair.
They had the worst flea infestation we have probably ever seen, and the blood loss had rendered them anaemic.
They were extremely malnourished; their poor mumma was was also starving and unable to produce a sufficient amount of milk for them.
They had bellies full of worms, eating them alive from the inside and stealing whatever scare nutrients the kittens were getting.
They were dehydrated to the point of needing fluid injections every few hours.
They were swimming from nose to tail with ringworm, covered in fungal lesions and missing huge patches of fur.

Every kitten needed intensive medical intervention. They needed baths, injections, oral medications, and topical treatments. They had to be weighed and have their temperatures taken daily. They were regularly poked and prodded and forced to endure uncomfortable and undignified procedures. Some of them grew used to be handled; other receded even further into their shells, associating human touch with pain and discomfort.

Luckily, despite some very close calls and many sleepless nights, all of them pulled through.

ASH AFTER HIS GLOW-UP:

Ash now is a cheeky little boy who loves a good zoom around the room with his siblings. He is silly and playful and will definitely bring joy to your life with all of his antics.

And when Ash is all tuckered out from play time, he will join you on the sofa for a snooze and a cuddle. Ash is also a very loving boy with an affinity for belly scratches. He has a purr that will fill the room (and your heart).

He's cute, cuddly, curious... in short, Ash is a very well-rounded kitten who would be the perfect addition to any household!

When Ash went in for his desexing, he charmed the vet so much that she wanted to take him home (and she would have, if she didn't have too many cats already) (though is there really such a thing? :p )!

Ash will need to be kept indoors and well protected from the sun, because his light colouration makes him a prime candidate for skin cancer. Indoor cats are safer, happier, and healthier overall though, so we encourage this for all of our cats regardless of their colouration.

With his big, green eyes and milky white fur, there is no doubt that he is a stunning boy, and he has a wonderful personality to boot!

Ash would do well with another cat and would love to be adopted with his sister, Tempest. He has not been tested around dogs, and it would likely take him a bit of time to adjust, but he would probably be ok in a home with a gentle pup.

Ash is a sweet little goofball who would love to join your family.

As part of the adoption package, you will be given a voucher for a free vaccination (through Westside Community Desexing Clinic).
You must vaccinate your kitten(s) when the supply is replenished, and provide proof of this vaccination before the microchip(s) will be transferred into your name. If you choose to use your own vet rather than the clinic, that is ok, but you will do so at your own expense.
