Jazzy is a little character. If you want a people focused cheeky pup she is your lady. Her ideal of the perfect day is hanging with her humans getting any type of pats and scratches. She is boisterous and affection all rolled into one. She can hold her own when there is rough and tumble to be had with her big foster siblings, but happily gives you a cuddle as soon as the game is done.
Jazzy loves running away with toys and playing chase with her fur friends. We are practicing bringing toys back, but her foster siblings wrestling her isn’t helping the cause. Jazzy met these inside creatures called cats once and after one of them used its claws for no good she wasn’t keen on going near them. This may mean with good introduction she will be cat friendly.
Jazzy is very food motivated and hasn’t turned her nose up at anything that goes in her bowl, be it fruit or vegetables. She is quite smart and has learnt sit, shake paw and drop to wait for her dinner whilst in foster care. We anticipate she will be going places if someone is willing to put the work in to keep her learning. Her foster carers notice the difference in her behaviour when she has to use her brain and she is less mischievous with a bit of entertainment. In care Jazzy has enjoyed some food puzzle toys, catching bubbles in the paddock, playing fetch and just repeat basic commands to keep her stimulated. We also think Jazzy will need some clear boundaries in her forever home to keep her boisterous behaviour to a minimum.
Crate training so far has been unsuccessful, as Jazzy has been quite vocal; letting people know she isn’t happy about been in there. Her perfect home may mean she needs another confident dog or someone home a bit, as she can get upset when her humans leave. This usually only lasts a few minutes though. Jazzy has been really working hard on this and hopefully with time she will learn she isn’t been abandoned.
Jazzy is gentle when on a lead but can be hesitant with new places or if she doesn’t want to go somewhere. It has been so lovely to watch Jazzy grow in confidence while in care.
We think Jazzy will make the perfect family pet. She has been around young kids (with supervision) and clearly slows down to be around them. She can be a bit over the top with licking them and bouncing in their space, therefore would be more suited to older children or confident young kids. We think with time she may also settle, as she is still a baby herself.
Jazzy cant wait to find her humans so she can show them what a hilarious little character she is. If you want a back-chatting cheeky chops for a dog Jazzy is your gal! I mean who doesn’t love a beautiful brindle? Right!?
Jazzy is $400 + $100 desex bond* to adopt and comes microchipped, C5 vaccinated, and given flea/tick/worm prevention.
*Desex bond will be refunded once pup is desexed at one of our nominated vets at the appropriate age. It is a non-negotiable conditions of adoption that pups are desexed prior to 8 months of age, unless otherwise approved by NQAR. The cost of desexing is included in the adoption fee, as long as it is done at one of our nominated vets.
