About Hamish
I am trying a new home to see if i like it. When hamish was rescued from the pound he was very quiet and timid with some hair loss over his head and body and was shockingly underweight. With some medication and three meals a day for the first few weeks he has been fattened up to a healthy weight and now his hair is growing back beautifully thick and lustrous. We believe that hamish had not had the nicest life before coming to paws as he was clearly neglected and will still sometimes cower and be wary around strangers. Hamish is a very distinguished looking dog with his lovely salt and pepper coat giving him a mature gentlemanly look. He is a very quiet and gentle natured dog and a house dog who would be great with an older family and loves nothing more than to sit in the same room as everyone either at your feet or on a lap. Hamish isn't a fan of bath time but he loves being brushed every other day. He enjoys going for shorter walks and he is slowly making friends at the dog park. Currently hamish stays on the lead at the park and mostly ignores other dogs. His absolute favourite time of the day is breakfast and dinner time and he gets really excited, grinning from ear to ear and doing a little happy dance, its adorable! hamish responds very well to his name and nicknames (haym, cutie dog) and is obedient and understands basic commands, like 'come', 'out', 'sit' and 'get
down'. He is starting to learn how to 'shake' paws too! hamish is tolerant of the attention of smaller children but would be better in a home with adults or elderly people. Over all, he is a beautiful little dog who is willing to love and be loved and would make a fantastic companion dog. Hamish comes desexed, microchipped, vaccinated, wormed, on heartworm prevention and with nsw local council lifetime registration for $350 and is not available for adoption outside nsw. He has also had a recent dental (teeth cleaned under anaesthetic). If you would like more information on hamish or to arrange to meet him, please phone 0466 690916 (between 8am and 7pm only) or email using adoption enquiry as your subject heading.
