About Onyx
Meet Onyx
Onyx is a brave little warrior with a heart of gold who will grow to be a protector and bring such happiness and laughter to his lucky family.
He is about 3mths old and is a cattle x Border Collie.
He is learning to be a confident and playful dog with help from his 2 big resident dog friends.
He is interested in cats and learning a sniff and ear lick is quite enough.
He reacts to 'No' really well and stops in his tracks if he thinks a quick follow of the cat up the stairs might be a fun thing to do.
Onyxs' favourite things to do are:
Sit and nap in the 'cat bed dog toy box'
Play with his dog friends (chasey, bitey face, tug a war and toy sharing)
Cuddles and licks and nibbles and tummy rubs on the couch (he helps himself to your lap with a bit of help getting those back legs up still)
Seeking out his toys and carrying them from one area to another for a sit and chew
Sniffing out lizards and chewing on sticks.
Wrestling the broom – or “helping with the sweeping.
He loves his food and takes treats gently.
He is learning some beautiful manners knows sit and is learning to 'sit and wait' for his food.
He is also learning to sit back and wait with the other dogs while the cats are only a few steps away eating their breakfast in the morning.
A smart and curious puppy who is not scared of anything - he has the waggiest little stumpy tail
Toilet training is a work in progress – he will take himself outside when the door is open during the day, and he is using the blue and white puppy pads if he gets caught short in the house.
Onyx sleeps in a cosy crate in the same room as his 2 resident dog friends and is great in it for 6 to 6.5hrs so far with no accidents.
He will need to be taken straight outside for 'go toilet' in the morning though.
He has had his first 2 puppy vaccinations, and his flea/tick/worm is all up to date.
Onyx is waiting to meet you with his gorgeous brown and blue eyes and waggy stumpy tail at Arana Hills
His adoption fee of $650 includes desexing at our partner vet when he is about 6 months old.
If you think you could be a perfect match for this special little man, please send us a detailed message telling us all about yourself and the wonderful life he could share with you.

We understand that bringing a new pet into your home is a big decision that will enrich your life in countless ways. That’s why we’ve developed a clear, step-by-step guide to help you find your perfect match and provide a loving home for one of our precious animals. Our dedicated team is here to support you every step of the way, from your initial interest to the joyful day you bring your new friend home.
How to Adopt: A Step-By-Step Guide:
1. Browse Our Selection: Visit our Animals page and use the menu to view the various pets we have available. Choose between cats and dogs to narrow your search.
2. Expression of Interest: Found a pet that captures your heart? Reach out to us for an Expression of Interest (EOI) form to initiate the process.
3. Patience is a Virtue: We meticulously review every EOI to ensure each animal goes to the right home. Thank you for your patience during this critical stage.
4. Meet Your Potential Pet: If your EOI is approved, we'll organise a Meet & Greet session. It’s a great opportunity for both you and the animal to see if it’s a perfect match.
5. Adoption Application & Home Review: If you're ready to move forward, you'll need to complete our adoption application and agree to a home review.
6. Review & Approval: Your application and home review will be assessed to guarantee a secure, loving environment for your potential pet.
7. Adoption Fee: Upon approval, you'll be required to pay the non-negotiable adoption fee. This fee directly supports our animal care efforts.
8. Welcome Home: Once the fee is processed, we'll coordinate the special day when you can bring your new pet home.
