About Patch
Introducing the gorgeous Patch
Patch (formally inmate #169) quietly entered our rescue a few weeks ago.
He had been in the pound much longer than the others and we knew his time was up, so we planned a whole run around getting him out to safety.
We committed to saving him so he wouldn’t be euthanized and then got to work on some of the others.
This meant he may well have been missed by many of you as the other dogs were so urgent that we shared them a lot that week.
But now it's this gorgeous boys’ time to take his place in the spotlight.
Patch is a Border Collie mix and has just turned 4 years old.
He arrived in quite a state and made a nervous start to his recovery.
But he is a super sweet boy who just wants to love and be loved – his desire for this pushes his brave.
His tail is no longer tucked under and he has the most beautiful smile.
It is so sad that a dog as loyal as Patch has been left alone in the pound, but he is learning to trust again and it's an honour to see him grow.
His next family will inherit the most beautiful-natured dog.
He will follow you everywhere. – you will never feel lonely with Patch around.
A simple scratch under the chin and behind the ears is heaven on earth to him.
He adores his walk and trots right beside you on a loose leash.
He is not distracted by birds but will bark at dogs sometimes if they scare him.
He is in care as an only dog but played well with all the dogs in the pound so we are confident he is dog-friendly.
We think a fur sibling will be good for him to help him find his “dog” again but not essential is he has lots of human interaction.
He has all the Border Collie smarts and is already trained to come, sit, and wait for his food.
House training is coming along well but he does still have an accident or two if the doors are closed.
He will need lots more training and stimulation to keep his working dog brain busy so a family that is active and committed to this would be just awesome.
For some reason he is a little scared to eat, so a quiet place and tasty food is essential.
Extra smelly treats win him over when training.
Patch has clearly never had toys, but he is learning to love them – he appreciates every single one and finds great pleasure just sitting in his crate or by your side with his treasured toys.
He adores car rides and will happily jump in and go on adventures with you.
He is still learning that being left behind is okay and that you will come back.
His owners will need secure fencing is leaving him alone outside as he may come looking for you – his carer has lower fences, so he has spent a few hours in his crate when left alone.
Pop the TV on and give him his toys and he is happy as.
He loves his “safe space “crate and sleeps in there happily through the night.
He has experienced storms, and he was a little anxious, but nothing bringing his bed closer didn’t sort quickly.
Patch is an absolutely lovely boy and is going to be a great dog for one lucky household.
Patch has been desexed, vaccinated, microchipped and is u to date with his flea and worm treatments.
His adoption fee is $575 and he is in care at Minyama on the Sunshine Coast.
If you think Patch could be your perfect match, please send us a detailed message telling us all about yourself and the wonderful life he could share with you.
