This gentle natured girl loves to explore and is very affectionate to the humans that she meets.

HOUSEHOLD - While Olivia could be suited to a variety of home environments, she can be timid in new and busy environments, so she would benefit from a home that would be able to give her the time and consistency she needs. Olivia seeks reassurance, guidance and affection from her handler.

ON GOING TRAINING - Olivia has learnt to jump up when she seeks attention, she has shown good response to this when she is not given attention and she quickly learns to sit beside you instead. She does know sit but struggles to respond to it most times, she would need more obedience training to ensure that she masters good manners.

ON LEAD - Olivia is calm on the leash, barely pulling and instead interested in sniffing her environment but can jump to gain attention from her handler especially when she is nervous. This would be helped with a consistent walking routine and her gaining more confidence.

PLAY/TOYS - Olivia has not shown much interest playing with toys in the shelter environment

OTHER DOGS - When tested with other canine friends, she was a bit nervous and jumped on her handler due to this. Once she began to feel more comfortable, Olivia gave her canine buddy a few sniffs, before showing more interest in the walk or handler, rather than the other dog which she lost interest in. Olivia walks past dogs with ease, she is much more interested in her walk.

Olivia could be homed with another appropriate canine friend.

CATS/OTHER ANIMALS - Initially Olivia was interested in our cattery cats but after being nose to nose with a friendly one, she quickly turned her attention back to her handler and gave no further attention to the other cats. We believe with slow introductions and supervision, Olivia could be housed with a resident feline.

CARE/GROOMING - Due to her breeds, Olivia will require brushing regularly. Olivia has no issues being handled.

EXERCISE - Olivia would benefit from daily walks along with mental stimulation activities. To help build up her confidence, Olivia will require ongoing exposure to different social environments.

NUTRITION - Olivia has shown no special dietary requirements. She did come in underweight and is slowly regaining weight, which will need to be monitored.

BREED - 1 Year Old - Female - German Shepherd x Border Collie
