Introducing Dodge, the sweetest goofball. Dodge just loves human attention, pats and scratches even more than treats, and his foster carers are powerless to refuse his puppy dog eyes. Such a gentle boy with taking treats from your hand and already great on the lead on walks. He loves a car ride adventure, doesn’t matter if its to the beach or a fast food run.
Dodge is a quiet dog that won’t upset the neighbours as he has not barked during the 3 weeks in our care, just don’t expect him to pull guard dog duty! His foster parents have also have been joking he is a bit of a scared Scooby Doo as he gets spooked by garden lizards and by those fake cat silhouettes used to scare birds. He is a talker, especially when he first sees you in the morning.
Dodge is learning to play with toys and fetch and cheats with his paw during tug of war. When excited he gets the zoomies and also spins around on the spot. There might be a bit of pointer in him, as he lifts the paw and puts tail up sometimes, and some whippet as he is very fast.
He is crate trained and toilet trained, just needs regular breaks outside otherwise he just holds it in. He has not chewed anything his carers have left lying around inside. He will sit watching you in the kitchen (especially at the fridge) or lay down and chill out on the floor while you watch TV.
Dodge is great with other dogs however wants to play with any dogs he sees on walks, so needs more training/exposure. He can whine when first separated so will need some outside alone time to build his independence. He will need a high fence as he could jump if scared. While very gentle, he does mouth/gum your hand/arm when playing, so this could scare small children and he needs some encouragement to use the toy instead when playing.
This wonderful boy is eagerly waiting to find his forever home.
Dodge is $350 to adopt and comes desexed, microchipped, C5 vaccinated, HW tested (negative) and given flea/tick/worm/heartworm prevention.
