MY PROFILE:
Misty’s journey into foster care starts Christmas night when she turned up with four kittens in tow desperate for help. It turns out Misty’s future foster carers had no idea she had been raising a litter in complete secrecy under their back decking for many weeks without them knowing.
From the get go Misty was affectionate and sociable, even when she was at her most afraid and unsure of who she could trust.
Misty is a talkative cat, especially when she is playing, interacting with her kittens and other cats. She will let you know she is excited for dinner or to see you.
She is a very dedicated mum and enjoys showing her kittens the ropes. She loves to run about with them and show them proper play-fight etiquette. As a young mum, she still has the heart of a kitten and loves to play with soft jingle toys and balls.
She is very easy to handle. Her foster carers have bathed her without a fuss. She is also very easy to give tablets to; a blessing for any cat owner when it comes to worming! She will readily accept a tablet wrapped in some cheese single, or hidden inside Inaba Churu Bites.
There is a downside to her being so food-motivated. She will need to be on set meals with portion control. It is advised she doesn’t have free access to food. As she raised her kittens by herself as a stray, her survival instincts are strong and she is still eating every meal like it is her last. She currently has no upper limit and may make herself sick if you allow her to eat too much in one sitting. Hopefully with time she will learn that she no longer needs to be afraid that she might not have a next meal.
Misty is warm and cuddly and will show her fondness for you with many a head bump and body rub. She loves chin rubs and pats.
She has made good friends with one of her foster carers' own cats. She is still trying to convince the other two resident cats to be friends with her; she is super enthusiastic. She would benefit from a home with another friendly cat as she is used to the interaction and company of feline friends.
Despite her warm, friendly and gentle nature she is quite skittish. She can get startled by sudden movements, loud noises and strange things like vacuum cleaners, so she will need an owner who will understand when she needs space and security. Cat caves and boxes to hide in are much appreciated! She is timid of new people, but once she learns to trust you she is the sweetest friend you'll meet.
Dear Miss Misty deserves a loving home of her own after doing such a good job raising her four wonderful kittens Trixie, Gremlin, Chilli and Moon.
