About Chappo
Chappo is a Merle blue eyed Frenchbulldog. He is confident, sweet and loves to play. He is a wonderful companion
He is great with:
People- children and elderly
Dogs
Cats- untested
He is toilet trained and walks well on a lead and harness.
Medical notes
Chappo has passed all of his health checks and has the paw of approval from the vet.
He has had 5/5 Boas surgery to try to prevent any airway issues and airway disease (BOAS) will be included in his medical waiver.
Chappo has had surgery to repair his left inguinal hernia there should be no further issue with this but will be included in his medical waiver.
Chappo also has bilateral patella disease, we’ve noticed a worsening of his gait over the past several weeks and have had him assessed.
Prior to adoption he needs patella surgery bilaterally. The left knee is a grade III/IV and the right knee is a grade II/IV. We have reduced his adoption fee in light of the ongoing arthritic changes that are all a part of the highly heritable patella disease which many French bulldogs suffer from. Patella disease will also form part of the medical waiver on adoption.
He is a brachycephalic breed. All suffer from BOAS in some way, either minor or severe. They are always at risk of boas ( brachycephalic obstructive airway syndrome)becoming clinical- creating difficulty breathing. We expect you to have a complete understanding of the condition and discuss the potential surgical, environmental and medical modifications you may have to do for this condition with your vet before you apply for this dog. It is also a excellent idea to take advantage of the trial period to have your vet check over the dog and give you more pointers on this breed related issue and the expectations for their care and management.
