About 🦄Didi🦄
Didi is a happy friendly little lady who has had a few hurdles to overcome in her short life. Didi was born with only one eye, and then sadly lost her one good eye when a medical condition was left untreated. But despite now being fully blind, and not having the best living conditions for her first 14 months, she lives her life to the fullest and faces every day full of zest!
She is a very sweet girl who loves affection from every person she meets. She looks forward to her daily walks (although needs some help with navigation), and walks great on lead. She will occasionally tend to freeze when she hears an unfamiliar sound, or if a passerby walks up quickly behind her. However being that she is such a trusting girl, a little bit of encouragement is all she needs to let her know all is ok.
She loves play time with her canine foster brothers, and is an avid toy destroyer. Didi enjoys a cuddle and will happily snuggle up on the couch with her humans. She does her best to be a good guard dog for her people, and will bark at a strange sound or those pesky postmen knocking on the door. She is very welcoming with guests and greets all visitors with enthusiasm.
Didi is housetrained and can take herself out to the toilet, although she may have a period of adjustment while she gets her bearings in her new home. She is a very clever girl and will need some patience and understanding until she memorises the layout of the house. Didi currently lives with both dogs and cats in her foster home, although understandably can be a bit wary with unknown dogs she meets on her walks. In true Frenchie diva fashion, Didi would prefer to be the only female doggo in her forever home.
Like all Frenchies, Didi will always need indoor access with climate control. She has had BOAS surgery to improve her breathing, but is still an A+ snorer and snorter. Like many white dogs, she does have some skin issues which can be easily managed with medicated baths. Young children might be a bit overwhelming for her, however calm older kids would be fine in her new home. Ideally her forever family will be home most of the time, as being left alone for long periods when you’re blind is a bit scary!
Didi is in care in Carnegie
