Tarbo *On Trial*

*tarbo is currently trialling his new home* this spunky little guy is tarbo!! \ he was reluctantly surrendered to sarg by his owner who had too many dogs to care for so we promised we’d find tarbo a fantastic forever home. Tarbo is an easy going parson russell terrier x with a rough or “broken” coat which is creamy white with light tan patches. When he first arrived in care he was a little wary of his carers husband but soon came around though does tend to be a little cautious of men while out walking……. Speaking of which tarbo loves a walk and will happily trot along checking out the world around him. In general tarbo has a very passive nature, even our vets commented on what a lovely little dog he is, and he is friendly and thoroughly enjoys a pat and a snuggle. He definitely wants to be near people and included in their lifestyle!

tarbo has this adorable way of cocking his head to the side and looking at you with his gorgeous brown eyes as he tries to understand what it is you’re telling him. He loves exploring his carers large yard and has terrific recall when asked to “come”. Tarbo really enjoys his food and is very polite, sitting and waiting patiently while its dished up for him. He sleeps through the night in his little bed beside the back door. He has made friends with the male blue heeler next door but his carer’s cat is definitely sport to tarbo and he gets very excited when the cat appears on the garden shed roof to check him out. Puss is a bit freaked out by it all as she’s used to having foster dogs around who took no notice of her but her carer just plays “the one goes out the front door while the other is out the back” game and when their paths do cross puss will warn tarbo not to push it which he respects!

he gets little spurts of energy and enjoys some play time especially with his carers older children. He was a little frightened at first when he met some younger children but soon went up to them to make friends and in no time they were all having a ball with tarbo. This dog is active but not bouncy or feisty in any way and will make a great friend and companion. As tarbo is toilet trained he would enjoy an indoor / outdoor lifestyle with either a friendly doggie companion to keep him company or on his own where he won’t be left alone for long periods of time especially during his settling in period. Daily walks or runs around the backyard, secure fencing, bones to chew on and toys to play with will make tarbo very happy indeed!
