Meet Dougie – Your New Best Buddy

Here’s the deal: Dougie is one of those rare cats who just gets it. He’s an absolute sweetheart who greets you at the door with a chirpy little “hello” every single time you come home. He’s not a lap cat yet—but give him a little patience, and he’ll learn. In the meantime, he’s more than happy to keep you company, soak up head scritches, and be right there in the middle of whatever’s going on.

Dougie’s favourite thing in the world? Playtime. Tunnels, bird-on-a-string toys, new cardboard boxes, the latest piece of furniture you thought you bought for yourself but actually bought for him—he’s in. He explores every nook and cranny with pure delight, like he’s the official Minister for Household Inspections. And when it’s time to rest, you’ll find him tucked into a cozy hidey hole, perched in a cat tree, or stationed at a window, supervising the birds.

This boy has a gentle nature. He gets along great with other cats—he’s more of a “let’s hang and play” guy than a snuggler, but who knows what the future holds. He’s comfortable around people of all ages, unfazed by loud noises or music, and would likely do fine with a cat-friendly dog. Children? He’ll love them. Dinner time? His favourite time of the day, hands down.

Dougie’s best friend right now is Twisty—they’re great playmates who give each other space when needed. It would be wonderful if Dougie and Twisty found a home together, but Dougie would also shine on his own as long as he gets the attention, love, and playtime he deserves. A catio or safe outdoor space would make him extra happy.

Bottom line: Dougie’s got heart, charm, and enough playful energy to keep a whole family smiling. He’s the kind of cat who makes every day better just by being there.
