About Douglas & Twisty - Located in Ballarat
Hello there, dear reader. Allow me to introduce myself. My name is Twisty, a cat of distinction, despite my tail deformity and protruding sternum. These unique traits don't hold me back one bit, oh no. I strut around with a confidence that could fill a room, unafraid and cheeky as they come. I have a passion for life's simple joys: cardboard boxes, the tantalizing aromas of human cuisine, and the thrill of a good chase. Toys? I love them. And let me tell you about my zoomies—bursts of energy that send me racing through the house, balanced perfectly by my leisurely naps.
Despite my bold nature, I have a heart that beats for others, especially my dear brother from another motherxzs, Douglas. Douglas came into my life when my exuberance proved too much for the resident lady cats. And what a blessing he has been. He might be shy when you first meet him, hiding from visitors and keeping to himself, but give him a few hours, and you’ll see a different side of Douglas.
He’s a total sweetie, a lap cat who’ll purr his way into your heart. He talks, oh how he talks, to anyone willing to listen. We share a bond so strong that we are rarely apart. Whether we’re playing, cuddling, or just hanging out, you’ll find us together. If one of us is locked out of a room, you’ll hear our protests, meowing to be reunited.
I suppose you could say Douglas and I balance each other out. My confidence helps him come out of his shell, and his calm presence keeps my cheekiness in check. We’re a team, the best of friends. When I’m strutting around, showing off my fearless nature, Douglas watches and gains confidence. He’s not as shy as you might think—give him a bit of time, and you’ll see his bold side too.
We’ve brought joy to our foster mum, and we’re ready to bring that joy to a forever home. A place where we can continue our adventures, our cuddles, and our endless playtimes together. So, if you’re looking for a dynamic duo, a pair of cats who will fill your home with love, laughter, and the occasional zoomie, look no further.
Twisty and Douglas, at your service. We promise to be the best companions you could ever hope for.🐾❤️

Medical notes
Twisty has a small abnormality of his sternum which is unlikely to be causing any problems.
His tail has a severe deviation from and old fracture at the distal 3rd. The bones ends are quite sharp under the skin but there is no sign of this causing a problem at the moment.
WORLDWIDE CAT VACCINE SHORTAGE
There is currently a worldwide shortage of cat vaccines and supplies are unlikely to be replenished until early 2024. This is due to complicated supply problems post-COVID. Our vets have limited, and in some cases no supplies available, but are prioritising kittens and previously unvaccinated Cats wherever possible.
Kittens are at the highest risk as their level of protection is very low after the initial protection provided by the mother’s antibodies. While protection will wane a little over time, a delay up to three months is unlikely to result in a significant reduction in levels of protection. It is anticipated that clinics should have regular supplies early in the new year to bring your cat back up to date.
First Vaccination completed
We will try to provide at least 1 vaccination, depending on our supplies of vaccines available, however boosters may become overdue. In this case it is your responsibility to contact your vet as soon as supplies become available. We will not be re-imbursing any of this costs.
We require all cats and kittens to be indoors only and not allowed outside. This is especially important now as there is a risk of coming into contact with unknown cats who may not be vaccinated.
No Vaccination completed
Where we are unable to provide any vaccination during their time in care with us, please contact us on 0459779888 or via email to samantha@neko.org.au, and we will arrange for one vaccination to be done at one of our partnering clinics as soon as supplies are available. Boosters after this will be your responsibility.
Please note that should you choose to utilise your own clinic, we will not be re-imbursing any costs. This is your responsibility.
