Storm

Storm is a beautiful black and white German Shorthaired Pointer mix with a heart as big as her name. Life didn’t start out kindly for her. She spent her early years forgotten in a backyard, never taken out into the world, and living in fear after being repeatedly attacked by another dog in the home. Understandably, she became anxious and reactive around other animals. But despite it all, Storm has shown incredible resilience and an even more incredible capacity to love.

For the past three years, Storm has lived with a professional dog trainer who has helped her rebuild her confidence and learn how to trust again. At home, she is the perfect dog — obedient, affectionate, gentle and easy to love. She’s crate trained, toilet trained and has beautiful manners. She adores her humans and is happiest when she’s by your side, enjoying a cuddle or showing off her puppy-dog eyes to get just one more pat.

Storm has one special dog friend, but in general, she isn’t safe to mix with other animals. She needs a home that understands she’ll always need careful management around other dogs and pets. In return, you’ll get the most loyal companion you could ask for — a dog who has survived the worst and still believes in love.

Now 8 years old, Storm is ready to find her forever home. She’d love a medium to large backyard where she can relax in peace, away from the hustle and bustle. She enjoys a quiet walk, and nothing makes her happier than a game of tug or fetch. She’s strong, enthusiastic and full of personality — but always listens when you say “give.”
