About Bluey
Introducing delightful Bluey, a two and a half year old boy who was surrendered to a pound.
Bluey has basic obedience and is in foster care where he is charming his foster carers and coming out of is shell every day. Being surrendered has been a bit hard for this young boy but he is starting to show his gentle and affectionate nature.
Bluey's favourite thing to do is to go for walks. His eyes light up when he sees his lead and looks to the door. He is very good on the lead and will walk to your pace, slow down when you do etc. Not reactive to dogs or people that he encounters on the walk. When he comes home it is like he has just experienced the best thing ever and he lies down to nap.
He is fantastic in the car and again loves to be with you when travelling.
Bluey has not shown any food or toy guarding.
Bluey is currently living with another young male German Shepherd and he has lived previously with a female. The two boys are relaxed around each other and mostly ignore one another.
Bluey has not met children yet, but we expect he would be OK.
Bluey is house trained and lies at the feet of his foster carer.
Please note that if you reside in Queensland or Victoria and are interested in adopting Bluey, you would need to be able to travel to Canberra with your family for the meet-and-greet session. In the unlikely case that Bluey does not fit into your family, you will be responsible for taking him back to Sydney or assisting us in finding him another suitable home.
Medical notes
Bluey is a healthy young boy who is microchipped and vaccinated and will be desexed once he has decompressed from being in the pound

Adoption details
We have an Adoptions Manager who screens all prospective candidates as to their suitability to adopt a German Shepherd Dog.
We try to contact every one by phone but if that isn't successful we will email our application form to you, which needs to be completed and returned, or you can call us back and we can chat and complete for you. We will also ask you to provide photos of your yard and fencing to enable us to see where the dog will be kept and that they have areas of shade and shelter.
All our dogs are ready to go to their new home, so when you enquire about a dog you must be in a position to take them into your home. We are unable to hold a dog while you fix your fences or go on holiday, etc.
The successful candidate who adopts one of our dogs is provided with an information kit, ongoing support, training and advice on all aspects of feeding, training and general assistance to ensure both the new owner and our rescued dog settle into their home.
