Meet Yuno! 🐕

PERSONALITY:
Yuno is a very easy going guy who loves meeting new people & dogs. He is enjoying foster care with his furry foster sister but is also happy hanging out in the yard and running around with his favourite toys on his own. He has been enjoying his daily walks in foster care but can get overstimulated if you are in a busy place and will forget to listen to you. He is not house trained yet so has been enjoying intermittent inside time on leash in foster care and enjoys curling up at your feet, cuddling up next to you on the couch or even right on your lap! He absolutely loves pats & belly rubs, he seems to respond more to praise than to food rewards. He's in the suburbs in foster care and nothing seems to bother him, he's shown no signs of separation anxiety when in the yard on his own and he hasn't even barked!

TRAINING: (sleep, toilet, crate training, commands/tricks, leash walking?)
Yuno had no previous training when coming into foster care so he was sent to board & train for 3 weeks to learn his basic training. He now knows "sit", "drop" & "come". He does have selective hearing with his recall though so this is a work in progress. He has pretty good manners and rarely jumps up to say hello to people, friendly when meeting new dogs. At the moment he spends most of his time in the yard because he is not house trained and will urinate & mark things in the house if unsupervised. At times he has also urinated on the concrete outside but he seems to be getting better at going on the grass. He sleeps all through the night in the yard on his own without a sound. Loose lease walking is also a work in progress as he tends to pull on the lead when walking.

PERFECT HOME: (are they tested on children, other dogs & animals, level of exercise, acerage/suburbia, need another dog?)
Yuno will fit perfectly into a home that has the time, patience & commitment to continue his toilet training, leash walking & recall. He hasn't been bothered by children on walks, only looks interested in playing with them. He will fit into a home either with or without another dog as he enjoys his own company just as much as the company of another dog. He's not too busy for a young border collie so he's pretty happy with 1 or 2 walks a day if he's getting enough mental stimulation & attention at home such as fetch & belly scratches! He also loves a swim in the creek & ocean. If you think you have the love and patience to welcome this sweet boy into your home then we'd love to hear from you.
