About Ruby
Ruby is like a grand dame, she is delicate and refined until food is involved then she becomes teenager, always trying to convince you she has not eaten for weeks! She makes lots of cute grunts and noises leaving you in no doubt if you do something she likes.
Ruby gets so excited over cuddles and snuggles that we nicknamed her the wiggly worm, she also has never met a human she does not like and is genuinely the sweetest most delightful little pug you'll ever meet!
Ruby is quite a petite girl who we haven't heard bark! She sleeps contently in a pen by her foster carers bed and is an exquisite WFH partner. Like most pugs she is social and likes a good stroll but isn't going to run a marathon, she must have access inside always and despite what she might tell you, keeping an eye on her calorie intake is important so she doesn't lose her trim and terrific figure.
MY IDEAL HOME: Anyone who will treat her like the fabulous grand dame she clearly is. Miss Ruby is a like a homing beacon, following you around wherever you go. She does have typical pug breathing so someone who is not sensitive to noise is essential. Ruby was never allowed inside prior to coming into our care, so her housetraining is a work in progress but with consistency she is doing well but her new family will need to understand that continued patience is required.
MY ENERGY LEVEL: She is an older lady so it’s asleep or wiggly worm, but watch that excitement when it’s food time.
MY SUITABILITY TO CHILDREN: Ruby has previously lived with children but does prefer a more relaxed lifestyle to wild hustle and bustle.
MY SUITABILITY TO CATS AND DOGS: Ruby is okay with other dogs out and about, however she is far more interested in their owners so we feel she is best suited as the only dog or with a super chill small dog like her. She is untested with cats.
Medical notes
Ruby came to us with some very large bladder stones requiring emergency surgery, whilst this is now resolved her new family will need to keep an eye out for any changes in case they reoccur.

Our foster carer will contact you when we receive your application to arrange a time for you to meet with their foster pet.
We want your adoption through Maggie's to be a good experience so we will occasionally suggest a different cat or dog that may suit your situation better and the needs of the individual pet.
All our pets leave for their new homes on a two week trial. At the end of the trial, we will transfer the microchip into your name and provide you with the pets vet certificates. Once you receive the Certificate of Identification from council, your adoption will be complete.
