About Wombat
Introducing Wombat!
Wombat is a Staffy x Cattle Dog born approx 15th March 2023.
Little miss Wombat was brought in to the facility as an unmicrochipped stray and no one came looking for her. Wombat was covered in fleas and had some bald spots where she'd been scratching them. She is now flea free, her hair is growing back & she's on the look out for her new family. Wombat is a very friendly & cuddly girl.
Wombat tested quite well with other dogs. She does get very excited when she first sees them & she whines and screams until she's able to say hi. Once they've met she completely settles, mostly loses interest in them and is happy to do her own thing in their company. She would be suitable to live with another dog, or be a spoilt "only child". If you have a friendly dog at home we will need to do a meet & greet with them to ensure they get along before going home.
Wombat seemed unfazed by cats during her testing. We believe with a slow & controlled introduction she could be able to live with cats. Please keep in mind we do all of our testing with cats in an enclosure. We cannot guarantee her reaction with a free roaming cat.
Wombat is untested with pocket pets at this time.
Wombat has shown no signs of food aggression or separation anxiety while being at the facility.
Wombat would thrive in a home where she is included as a part of the family.
Wombat's adoption fee is $450 and includes her desexing and lifetime registration.
Wombat has been treated for flea and worms and is up to date with her vaccinations.

Wombat is looking forward to meeting you and she is currently located in East Maitland.
Adoption details
If you are interested in adopting one of our animals, please contact us on 0499 900 272.
Staff will ask more about your lifestyle and the information you provide will helps us to achieve the best match between the dog or cat and their new home. We will also have certain adoption requirements that have to be approved prior to meeting the animal (eg fencing requirements, no young kids, etc)
Once all of your questions have been answered and adoption requirements met and approved, its time to meet your potential new furbaby. This meet will be conducted at the shelter in the Hunter Valley.
Should you have an existing dog in your life, we will require a meet and greet to ensure that they get along.
The final step (pending agreement by both parties) is the payment of the adoption fee and filling in of associated paperwork for your new furbaby.
Congratulations, you have now saved a life!
