About Lola - 16 Week Old Dachshund X Chihuahua (Trial)
Lovely Lola is a 16-week-old, female, Miniature Dachshund x Chihuahua puppy.
She packs a lot of fun into her 3kg puppy body. Lola is a quick learner and likes to please, she is food motivated and easy to train. She loves playing with her foster siblings and is such a character, she will keep you entertained with her puppy antics. An adventure lover, she enjoys car rides and bounces when you get her harness out to take her for a walk.
Lola is a very healthy little puppy who has been raised in a loving home environment with 4 other small dogs. She has been socialised with dogs but can be very nervous around new dogs, especially big ones so a meet and greet with a new fur sibling is a must. Being a Miniature Dachshund crossed with a Chihuahua, Lola can be vocal, especially in new situations that can be scary to her so she will need continued positive socialisation training to help her become more confident in new settings. She's met lots of people and is friendly and affectionate with them.
Lola knows her name and her recall is great, she can sit, come and twirl and can use a doggy door. She is consolidating her toilet training and will need this to be continued in her new home. Lola sleeps through the night cuddled up to her humans. Her favourite place is on your lap or snuggled into your neck.
Lola will grow up to be a small dog, probably around 5-6kg. We always recommend puppy-training classes to give your new family member the best start in life. All dogs and puppies need plenty of affection, exercise, and training.
It would be a big plus if you have a friendly small adult dog as a teacher, companion, and playmate for Lola, she would love to live with another small dog.
She would love her humans to be home more often than not. Lola needs to be an inside/outside dog as she likes to be with her people, and to sleep inside, human beds are her favourite. She isn’t suited to apartment living, she enjoys a garden to explore. She will be a fantastic addition to your family and is suitable for children 8 years and older. You need good fencing with no small gaps. She can't go to rural fencing (eg: mesh or wire).
Lola’s adoption fee is $1000 which includes her desexing when she is old enough. She has been vaccinated, treated for fleas, heartworm and worms, and is microchipped.
Lola is in foster care in New Lambton, NSW. Since she is not yet desexed, she is only available for adoption to the Lower Hunter region (Newcastle, Lake Macquarie, Port Stephens, Maitland and Cessnock) plus Central Coast and Sydney. She'll need to be returned to one of our approved vets for desexing when she's 5 to 6 months old.
