Bonnie is a good natured girl. She is clever and very responsive. She sits and waits to be told to eat her dinner. Bonnie is curious, alert, playful and loves one-on-one attention. She likes the beach (although not the water!). If bored she can be a little mischievous so enjoys stimulation with toys; she adores squeaky toys although quickly destroys them unless pretty strong! She has taken a great liking to the doorstop in her foster home and claimed it as her new friend! Bonnie also enjoys getting treats out of her Kong.
Bonnie enjoys her daily walks. She can pull a bit on lead so this will need ongoing guidance and an owner used to walking large dogs. She is friendly when out on walks toward people and polite dogs although isn't always keen on dogs rushing up to her; and is protective when at home and will alert by barking when strangers approach the gate. Bonnie is happiest when someone is around all the time so would suit fit and active retirees, someone working from home or a household where there is someone home most of the time.
Bonnie prefers to be the only pet in your life as she can get jealous of sharing her people with other dogs. Since we do not know what she is like with cats, other animals or livestock we think it wise to avoid them.
As Bonnie has never been around children and is an older dog we would like to see her in an adult only home or with teenage or older kids.
Bonnie does have skin allergies which means she needs special attention to her diet, plus ongoing medication. Although she needs attention from her new owners to her feeding and grooming, she gives back in spades: both in joy and cuteness. Her happy, loyal and sometimes quirky ways make her uniquely Bonnie!
If you would like to enquire about Bonnie please fill in her application form - follow the links at the top of her listing.
MEDICAL NOTES
Adoption fee includes vet check, vaccination, microchip (including transfer of ownership fee), flea and worm treatment and sterilisation.
Bonnie has skin allergies presenting in itchy skin if not managed. She does require sensitive stomach dog biscuits. Currently this is supplemented with veggies and sardines. She is currently taking Macrolone tablets every second day and benefits from regular bathing in shampoo for itchy skin.
ADOPTION NOTES
Our adoption process for the successful applicant includes a meet and greet, (including your own dog if applicable), a home check (or photos of your yard and fencing to be supplied to us if not local), and a two week trial period to ensure your chosen dog is the right fit for your home.
All adoption fees must be deposited into our SAFE Bunbury bank account in full before adoption trial starts (we cannot accept cash). The Adoption Agreement will be emailed to the selected applicant in advance of meeting your chosen dog.
After the adoption trial period has been completed we arrange transfer of ownership of the dog's microchip to the new owner, and email out the vet records.
