About Freddie
After coming in as a stray and figuring out where he was and what he was doing here, Freddie soon became everyone's friend!!
He didn't care if you were the one feeding him, or even the one walking him... He loved you even when you just walks past his play yard and say "Hello Mate", he would give you a big bum wiggle and that's what made his day.
When ever a staff member is around Freddie he is always making them smile, always making them want to go in and give him a BIG cuddle and just hang out in his yard all day! Freddie makes the days better and its now time BARC share this special boy with the world! We promise, as soon as you meet this boy you will want him in your car heading home with you. (That cant happen straight away as he has to wait around at BARC until he gets desexed).
If reading that has got you even more interested then let me keep going...
Freddie has the smarts of both the German Shepherd and the kelpie, He also has the energy of a young man with both those breeds in him! So please be ready to do some training as well as a lot of exercise with this awesome boy.
Enrichment while your at work is also something that will keep Freddie entertained, just something as simple as a Kong with some food in it.
Dog friendly and would be happy living in a home with another dog that is looking for a best buddy! Freddie will make there day as well.
Freddie would be okay with kids of any age however we do like seeing how the kids and the dogs interact when around each other to make sure it will work before heading home together!
Seriously you cant go wrong with this dog!! He is just the best.
To book a meet and greet with Freddie please phone 5441-2209 or email barcreception@bendigo.vic.gov.au . Due to the high volume of emails received, enquiries with a request for a specific appointment with phone details included will receive a response as priority over generic applications which state they are interested in meeting an animal.

Adoption details
BARC adoption officers will work with you to help you find a dog or cat that matches your needs, they will discuss things like yard fencing, exercise requirements, other pets and family members, lifestyle factors, and breed experience. To help make this as quick and easy as possible, we ask you complete and adoption questionnaire (located on our website, or you can complete on when you visit). This helps ensure that we are introducing you to the most suitable animals we have available.
We encourage all members of the household to attend a meet and greet with a pet prior to adopting an animal. If the animal being adopted is a dog, we will also require existing dogs in the household to attend the shelter as part of the meet and greet.
Holds can not be placed on animals over the phone, and can only be applied at the discretion of management.
