About Teo
Do you love a shaggy stumpy legged little dog with a smile that could melt ICE ???
Meet TEO
My name is Teo, and I am a 2-year-old very handsome (very cheeky) Jack Russell x probably Maltese ??? who weighs about 6 kgs. I am a playful little boy who absolutely adores playing with my toys, splashing my paws in my water bowl, playing in the kiddy pool, and doing zoomies in the backyard. I am still learning the way of the world and progressively well so far. I do need to learn to share but that will happen as time goes on. I am very entertaining and will have you in stitches on a daily basis but I do have a few behavior challenges that you need to be fully aware of and able to manage BEFORE you apply for my adoption
I am learning to play with humans much better than I did in the past. I like to say hello and get to know them if they let me. I do like to give kisses and hugs. Every morning after I go outside and check out what’s happening in the backyard, I then come running back up to my foster mum as fast as I can to sit on her lap for a belly rub and head massage which is simply divine.
I am currently on my “L” plates with my obedience training. So far, I have learnt to sit, come, wait, and drop. I need more practice with someone who is kind and patient with me. I am learning to take yummy treats without snatching lol . I have to sit, wait, be gentle and OK – I then get a delicious treat for being such a good boy. . I do like to play tug of war with my human, play with my toys and chase a tennis ball.
I can be quite social with doggy’s my size and I am still learning how to socialize with bigger dogs. I can be a bit naughty and bark at the bigger dogs when I am on my lead. I have played with a bigger dog in my backyard recently who is very calm and tolerant of my boisterous antics, and it went really, really well. But when she came into my house I got very jealous of her being in my home so I'm definitely better off living as an only dog
I had a lot of fun including doing zoomies and running with the doggy. I like to chase my tail every now and then, but I am kindly asked to stop when I get too excited or do it for too long. I am still not sure about being picked up, but I will let my human know with a little growl if I don’t want to. I am sensitive to loud noises like lawn mowers, the nutri-bullet thingy and any noisy bangs in the house. I will go and hide somewhere to feel safe. I am still learning my way in the world with my doggy manners and social skills – they do say practice of these new skills will make me more amazing !!
I love to go into the car now and go on adventures with my human. When I first arrived at my foster home, I did not like going in the car at all and was scared. I now like it and sit in the back seat in my dog hammock with my harness and seat belt on to keep me safe on the journey. I do like to look around and also poke my head out of the car window to feel the wind on my handsome face and check out what is going on in the world. I like to take a toy or two with me to keep me entertained.
I do like a nice warm bath to keep me nice and clean, as I like a muddy puddle. When I go to the beauty parlor for a groom - I am not a big fan of getting a pawdicure or the scissors to trim my beautiful locks yet.
I am currently sleeping in my crate inside the house at night and I like to take a toy with me for company
My daily walks are amazing – I go to different places and at different times to keep it interesting for me. I tend to stop frequently so I can sniff, smell, pee and poo when I need to. I check out all the gardens along the way. I love to run around and play with other dogs however I can sometimes be a bit choosy or a little nervous.
I like to be inside with my human to keep them company, although I sometimes like to wander around the house to see what is new to check out. I have a couple of places I like to get comfortable which includes being near the front door (with the door open so I can see out) in my round bed and on the comfy couch or my human’s lap. I can be a bit mischievous and take my humans thongs – (they taste nice), going into the walk-in wardrobe to see what looks interesting, checking out the clothes on the clothes horse – sadly it’s too far away for me to get a good look at the fashion standard; and look around and find my treats to chew on. I am not quite toilet trained yet, but this will get better with time and help from my humans. I like to watch and play with flies on the window – what a funny little thing they are 😊.
Things you need to know about me
I can show resource guarding behaviors and can be very protective over things I don't want to give back that I have stolen ….. TV remote . ETC
My foster Mum has done ALOT of work with me and I am so much better now but when I move into my new home I will need someone who is experienced with this behavior so I dont go backwards with all my hard work!!!!!! My foster Mum will trade me for a treat when I do now occasionally steal something i'm not allowed to have ……
For this reason my rescue does not feel I am suitable to live with small children

I would like my new human/s to be kind, gentle and patient with me. I am happy to go on many adventures and see the world. I would like access inside and outside of my new home, fresh water, lots of toys for me to play with and enrichment to keep me occupied when you are not home. I would love a good-sized backyard with secured fencing and grass to run around and explore; and a day bed or crate with blankies when it’s time for a power nap.
Teo is a very loving little fella who just wants to be with his human. He will need someone that is willing to teach him obedience, socializing, doggy manners and all the fun things in life. If this fits your lifestyle, then Teo is your dog. He loves to give kisses and will be a very loyal dog who will give you lots of love. He will make a fantastic addition to your family. 😊
