About Peanut
Please meet Peanut, the sweet natured but sometimes stubborn little 1 year and 1 month old Mini Dachshund
Peanut does absolutely lousy first impressions when doing a meet and greet - Peanut will bark and carry on and growl at some people and others he is a happy go to them little man - talk about mixed signals!
So if your still reading and not thinking yeah no............. please keep reading and give this little man a chance.!
Peanut is not great at meeting new people however once settled in his home he is a lovely fun natured boy who loves his humans.
Peanut is very wary of men - ideally a female only home would be great - come on single ladies / single mums this is the guy for you - he will give you unconditional love and never expect too much from you!
Peanut is currently in care with a Single mum and her young teenage boy - no issues with Peanut and the teenager - we have photos of them sleeping together (of course Peanut is the little spoon!)
If Peanut could have his wish he would love a home with mainly females (young adult males are fine). Peanut will take time to get used to a male adult and some barking and growling will occur (or grumbling under his breath).
Peanut is a 1 year and 1 month old Miniature Dachshund
Peanut has come into care thru no fault of his own from a private surrender.
Peanut can be wary of meeting new people and has the side eye stare down pat! However once comfortable the love that he shows his humans is genuine and kind and absolutely loves to snuggle.
Peanut is currently with other dogs in care and will need to go to a home with another playful small breed dog who Peanut will follow with meeting new people and knowing how to 'dachshund'.
Peanut would love to sleep with his humans at night and be very much a part of the family, however, has been crated previously.
Peanut would like a home where he access inside and outside at his leisure nothing beats a good run outside with your long ears flapping.
Peanut is dog friendly and currently lives with other dogs (this seems to help him know that the humans are okay......... or give it a few days and then he knows himself and he will love hard.
Peanut is toilet trained.
Peanut is untested with cats and could simply go either way - friend or chase.
Peanut loves to go for a walk and will forget that his little legs will only go so far, so he needs to be reminded heart of a lion but tiny legs!
Peanut loves to follow his (female) human around and help with anything they are doing - and would do best at a home where someone is home more often than not, works from home, retired, doesn't need to work etc.
Peanut is great in the car and will happily go with his human anywhere they go.
If you are looking for a dog that you want to love on - Peanut is your man!

Approved applicants will be contacted to arrange a time for a meet & greet via email.
