About Poe
Poe is an absolutely gorgeous cat, inside and out.
Check out her videos and you'll see what we mean!
She is a petite girl with a stunning jet black coat; big, bright eyes; and the cutest, fluffiest tail you've ever seen!
Poe was brought in from a rough life on the streets with her two tiny newborn kittens, her adult son, and her brother, all of whom have since been adopted.
She was very scared and a bit spicy when she first came into care (she was a very loving and very protective mumma), but thanks to her wonderful foster carer, she is now absolutely thriving as a house cat!
Poe is now a purry, sweet girl who loves pats and even lets you pick her up. Her fur is silky soft, so you will love giving pats as much as she loves getting them! She is not quite a lap cat, but she is becoming a couch companion. She enjoys human company but is also content doing her own thing, which makes her the best kind of versatile cat. She is very laid back and tidy. She does not make much noise, but she loves to chirp at you (and do her silly little tail shake) when she is happy, which you can watch in the videos.
As she has adjusted to life indoors, her playful side has also come out, which is always a beautiful thing to see. Street cats--especially females who often get pregnant very young--don't have a chance to enjoy things like playing, because they always have to have their guard up. To watch them relax and finally enjoy the finer things in life is truly magical.
Poe can be a bit shy around new people, which is why we encourage you to watch the videos of her to see her in her element.
She can still be a bit flighty around loud noises and sudden movements, so we think she is best suited to a calm, quiet household without small children. She will likely thrive in a smaller household with one or two adults. She has been wonderful with all of the other cats she has been around, but has not been tested with dogs.
Poe's foster carer will also be donating all of the items she has gotten for Poe during her time in care. This includes beds, a scratching tree, food and water dishes, litter trays, toys- you name it! (We told you her carer was amazing!) All of these familiar items will help her transition more seamlessly.
Poe will likely need a bit of time to settle in to your home, but once she comes out of her shell and you get to see her gorgeous, loving side, you will know you made the *best* choice!

Adoption details
If interested in a cat that is available for adoption, we require you to fill out an adoption application, and one of our lovely foster carers will give you a call to organise a time for a meet and greet.
Please note: As we are all volunteers with limited time up our sleeves, we prefer all interested potential adopters to fill out an application, rather than send an enquiry, as this helps us know more about you and what you are after, and saves us all a lot of time!
Apply here for Poe: https://form.jotform.com/sugarandspicecatrescue/cat-adoption-questionnaire
If forms aren't for you though, please SMS us (the number is in the link) and we can call to go through the form over the phone.
