Meet the gorgeous Dexter!

Dexter is a 15 month Male Labrador Retriever who is looking for a new home through no fault of his own. He spent his whole life outside the backyard by himself with NO training and energy to burn.
Dex is a happy pup with a very sweet nature and loves to play. He is currently living in a foster home with a senior Labrador retriever. He would be best suited in a home with a younger canine as he is very playfully and energetic . True to his Labrador genes he loves his food. He definitely prefers company & will get into mischief if he is bored or anxious.
Typical to his breed Dex is a master destroyer of toys (and ANYTHING left in his reach is fair game if left alone). This will require some vigilance to keep him & your items safe. Tough chews and Toys for this boy are a must.
Dex has spent 4 weeks with his foster family who have begun to teach him all about being an indoor dog. He is toilet trained but will need reminding until he settles into your new routine. He is also crate trained for night time - on occasion he rises early but will settle back to sleep once going to the toilet. There is always a settling period when a new dog comes into your home.
Dex has a beautiful nature & just wants to be loved. He loves nothing more than to play with his humans, and his foster sister (an older lab) has tried to teach him some manners and boundaries but he certainly needs some more help with this.
Dex is looking for his forever home that is willing to commit time and effort to his training. He needs someone with experience to handle him on a lead as he is a big strong boy & pulls, particularly if he sees another doggy friend to play with.
He would be suited to a family that is mostly home that has patience & can continue to guide him & commit to ongoing training. He would be best with kids over 13 due to his size and exuberant nature. He would do well with another calm dog that could continue to teach him dome good doggy manners.
