About Mariah
I know, you're already in love! How could you not fall head over heels for a big fluff ball named after the diva herself, Mariah Carey!
Mariah is an intelligent, sometimes sensitive, always curious, often chatty Maremma Sheepdog that arrived into our care a wee 4 week old baby. Despite being separated from her mum at such an early age, she has had her brother, a wonderful foster carer and a well balanced crew of dogs to learn and develop good skills from since her arrival.
Mariah can be reserved and often likes to suss out the situation before getting involved, she is a thinker and displays a lot of traits that are characteristic to her breed. A loyal floof queen that loves a cuddle, playing with her friends and adventuring! Mariah also currently lives with chickens and spends a whole lot of time watching and playing lookout and we would love Mariah to find a family that not only have the space (she's going to be a big lass) but also an outlet for Mariah to do as she is breed to do!
MY IDEAL HOME: Mariah is looking for a family that either have some guardian breed experience or someone who has a strong inclination to learn and provide suitable outlets for her breed specific needs. She is looking for a home with lots of open space, something to watch over and continued opportunities to adventure and socialise so she continues to grow into a well rounded, kind, loyal and loving companion.
MY ENERGY LEVEL: Mariah is a good mix of energetic, excitable, enthusiastic adventurer and shag pile carpet! It is important to remember that without opportunities to express her breed traits, Maremma's can be tricky to live with so definitely do some research before applying.
MY SUITABILITY TO CHILDREN: Mariah is suitable to live with children, currently living with two small children without issue. It's important she continues socialising with kids outside of her family circle as Maremma's can be very loyal and protective of 'their' people.
MY SUITABILITY TO CATS AND DOGS: Mariah is currently living with a cat without issue. She has been exposed to lots of dogs and generally gets on well with them.
Adoption details
We ask all people looking to adopt to fill in our adoption enquiry form.
For Cats: https://form.jotform.co/92940837256870
For Dogs: https://form.jotform.co/80677377750872
Please use these links rather than the 'Enquire' button on the pet's PetRescue profile to streamline your enquiry.
Our foster carer will contact you when we receive your application to arrange a time for you to meet with their foster pet.
We want your adoption through Maggie's to be a good experience so we will occasionally suggest a different cat or dog that may suit your situation better and the needs of the individual pet.
All our pets leave for their new homes on a two week trial. At the end of the trial, we will transfer the microchip into your name and provide you with the pets vet certificates. Once you receive the Certificate of Identification from council, your adoption will be complete.
Please consider, that a Maggie's Pet is a pet for Life, before adopting.
