Hi! I’m Baxter. I’m a 6 month old male kelpie full of life and a want to learn. I now live with my foster brother, a German Shepherd and am learning to be a confident kelpie like I should! My favourite snack is cheese and you don’t have to ask me twice to chase a tennis ball, I even bring it back!
I would love to be included in family outings, I show my best manners when around others, I can quietly sit and lay while my foster family sit and eat away from home.
Going for walks is fun and I’m getting so good that I hardly ever pull on my lead.
My foster parents have taught me manners for entering and leaving spaces through gates and doors, I know to sit and wait and definitely never race through.
I also sit and wait for my food without being asked anymore until I’m told “Get it”
I would love to go to a home where I can continue to learn and show off what I learn. My foster parents say I learn so fast! I’m a happy boy who loves the company of others, my foster home also has a toddler who I adore. I never jump up or lick his face and I share my toys with him.
I even met a horse at a farm! I’ve walked through Bunnings, and wag my tail the whole time now I’ve done it twice.
I’m also super happy to come and lay on the lounge with you and take a nap. I’m still just a baby, so sleep is easy. I’ve learnt to sit, down and shake paws.
When it’s meal time, I sit without being asked and don’t touch my food until my foster parents say “Get it”
I also know not to race through gates and door ways!
I know “Baxter, come!” and will happily come running back.
I am completely crate trained. The command is “bed” but I don’t need to be told, I’m super excited to get in it whenever required. I sleep in my crate all night in another room and don’t make a noise.
